Team work and respect? Sports and competition is about being better than someone else. Or being better than another group of people. Depending on if you win or lose this promotes a sense of either a) I am better than you or b) feeling poorly about your self. How is this a good thing?

What a colossal waste of money. Schools are for learning, not playing.
Money put into stadiums, uniforms, artificial turf fields, could have gone for more teachers, smaller class size and better facilities for schools.

Exercise makes you strong and keeps you fit. Organized sports (participating and watching) is a pastime for avoiding the true challenges in life. The better alternative is military service starting with JROTC.
