Subject: Important message from Mason Alert

Police are requesting the public's help concerning a sexual assault that took place at approximately 11:30 pm last Monday, April 27th. A female victim, not affiliated with George Mason University, was assaulted while walking on Rt. 123 adjacent to the woods near Lot I. The suspect in the assault is described as a hispanic male, approximately 24 years of age, 5'6" tall, 160 lbs., brown eyes, spiked black hair, wearing a blue and white striped shirt, dress pants, dress shoes, and using the name "David". The victim was not seriously injured and no weapon was displayed. Anyone having information concerning this incident should call University Police at 703-993-2810.

To be safe while walking at night, walk in groups, stay in lighted areas, and use the police escort service. The escort service can be reached at 703-993-HELP 24/7.
