Interesting that the GOP is screaming about Obama's 2009 budget which is now at 3.4T. Check GWB's last few budgets:

2007 - Receipts(2568), Outlays(2730)
2008 - Receipts(2521), Outlays(2931)
2009 - Receipts(2700), Outlays(3107)

So GWB projected he would spend 3.1T in 2009. However, his rosy 2.7T in receipts is matched only by reality of about 2.19T this year.

Another note is GWB's 2009 budget is about 300B less then Obama's. This is interesting because of Obama's 800B stimulus package, 300B are in tax breaks championed by several Republicans.

Don't ever use the word "champion" in the same sentence as the word "Republican." In today's environment, it just doesn't make any sense.
