Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
LOL- if ten sitting Senators switched from (R) to (D), it would pretty much spell the death of the GOP as we know it today. It would probably split the party in two (a good thing). But I can't see that happening, not yet at least.
I'll say maybe one more would switch sides, but I doubt any will. It will sure be funny if it that happens though.
This is due at least in part to the republikan strategy of refusing to negotiate in good faith with congressional democrats and Obama. They risk literally standing on the sidelines while major legislative packages are being developed. This is not what the people in those states represented by republicans want...an "I told you so" congressman.
I really don't see any other Republican Senators switching. However, I think if the GOP stays on its current course, any sitting Republican in a state north of the Mason Dixon Line or west of the Mississippi better be prepared to pack their bags after the 2010 election.
