A simple varmint hunter here. Favs are
1: .6MM Remington
2: .22-250 / .220 swift Toss up here but it really depends on the rifle / scope combo.
3:.223
4: .308
Side arm.
38 special
.357 Mag
And of course .45ACP
Honorable mention Ruger .20 cal is a very interesting as are .25 caliber stuff.

It is a nice round. 7.62 is .30 cal right? There may be some similarities can't really say for sure as I've been out of the hobby for some time now. Back when I used to plink a lot people always said that .6mm and .243 were the same too. In fact there is big contingent that claim Winchester killed the .6mm with the .243. I killed a ton of critters with my .6mm and it was .25moa with Remington Core lock .80 grain soft points as close as 10yds away out to about 450yds or so.
I was hunting with a guy once that was carrying an SKS in 7.62x.39 and I had my
T. C. contender in .223. I was curious about the difference between the 2 so we shot a 6" thick tree for a test. My .223 round stopped about a third of the way into the trunk and the Chinese round went in and blew out the other side. The exit damage was impressive. Would not want to be hit with that at all.

I use xm80/7.62X51 149gr for my SR762 like I use XM193 5.56 55 gr or XM855 5.56 62gr for my SR556. The .223 and .308 winchester are commercial version with little less pressure.
When the big war break out the only thing going to be left around is the mil ammo, so get use to it. I can plink with it, hunt with it, and know I can kill with it.

Yeah, the Chinese used steel in their ammunition as a cost cutting measure, but it ended up being a great penetrating round. I think the ATF banned that Chinese stuff from import many years ago.

LOL I remember one of the things that fuels the Kennedy conspiracy theories is that those Italian rifles from WWII were notoriously inaccurate, yet it served as a sniper rifle in the Kennedy assassination.

The Italians are great engineers and their machining skills are some of the best in the world. I had an Uberti single action revolver in .44 mag that LOVED 44special. It was well made, simple, accurate and reliable. A good gun for not a ton of cash. I used it as a humane means to put down critters I had wounded with the first shot.

The when all shit goes to hell. The only thing that will be plentiful and lying around will be the military calibers. 5.56x45., 7.62.x51, 9mm, .45, 12gal, and 50 cal in america. On dead folks with that help expression on their dead mug all you will find is plenty of cellphones last dialed to 911 playing that recording help will be there shortly.

Ammo is out there, just expensive. I might shoot a half box of .44 spl a year just to stay familiar with it.

1) send them money. they have a small arsenal and will threaten you if you want your ammo.
2) they have none of it in stock - obviously by their rag tag photo. if they actually do ship - they are ordering it at 1/2 price because your too lazy to google it. and by the time they hit you up with shipping , your paying 2x what the real distributors charge. some of it from afganistan, the rest joe retipped in his basement. not new.
