Jim Zorn, Redskins

Zorn spoke positively of his conversations with Snyder and front office chief Vinny Cerrato.

"I feel we have tremendous support from both those guys, I really do," Zorn said. "They are very passionate about this football team and want the best for it. I can say that emphatically. I can tell you that honestly."

Yeah. I'm sure Steve Spurrier, Joe Gibbs and Marty Schottenheimer all felt the same way at some point in time, too.

Jesus earned the faith of the apostles by walking on water and raising the dead.

When Dan Snyder walks on water, raises the dead or wins the Superbowl (all about the same level of difficulty for that midget bastard), THEN I will have faith.

Hey Joe,

You sound like a typical inbred Northern Virginia native. Get back to fingering your sister before you start your shift at Dennys.

The Redskins are a disaster. Mike Holmgren is probably almost as respected as Bill Parcels for identifying good coaching talent and HE didn't promote Zorn to Offensive Coordinator.

I think Zorn has been good at teaching Campbell the fundamentals of the position, such as how to move around in the pocket and hold onto the ball when sacked. But it is apparent that once opposing defenses figured out Zorn's offense, he had no adjustments in response. Also, Zorn wants Campbell to be quicker at getting rid of the ball, but Zorn keeps the team's best short-yardage receiver, Cooley, in blocks most of the time, so Campbell is stuck trying to throw to Randle (can't catch shit) El.

ummm... what did you just say?go finger my sister...i dont know where in your sick mind you pulled that out of, probably came from your ass but thats...not cool, fyi.

WTL

You make some good points. The Jim Zorn quotes up top come from an article where he said that he needs to devote A LOT more time to watching film. That should help him with adjustments and how to better attack opposing defenses.

You state the redskins are a disaster. Im going to disagree the Skins were .500, 8-8 in a very tough division. Obviously they have some pressing needs.
1. Offensive line - so Cooley does not have to stay in and block. He needs to be out catching hes our best WR

2. the need of a number one WR, or at least a possession WR, some one to compliment Moss's speed. Lets give year number two on the 2 WR we drafted last year to see how they do.

3. A playmaker on defense. whether a DL or a LB there is holes that need to be filled.

and P.S Mike Holmgren picked Jim Mora jr to be the heir apparent to him, and i personally do not think he is a great coach. Time will tell

Time will tell on Mora Jr. However, keep in mind he had to coach Michael Vick who, by most estimates, should have been a running back or receiver instead of a QB because he simply didn't have the accuracy to be an effective QB.

With an opportunity to coach mike vick there is no limit to the things he could really do. how about the Wildcat offense. Mora jr never did that. Jim Zorn has a better imagination than Mora Jr. and that helps with offensive play calling

Here's Jim Zorn's play calling...

Flat, Flat, Draw Play, Punt.

Draw Play, Flat, Flat, Punt.

Jail Break. Turnover.

Flat, Flat, Draw Play. Punt.

He was a first year coach cut him a little bit of slack. You are being a little to sarcastic with the play calls. Year number two for Zorn will show great improvement. ., At least better then 8-8.

add in Flat, Flat, First down, Draw Play, Slant, First Down, Toss Right, First Down, Curl, Touchdown. Redskins first place in the NFC halfway through the season.

At least he doesn't throw his headset on the ground after every play.

Or carry his playbook around by fastening it around his enormous gut.

Anyone who has watched the Skins knows Campbell can't throw a curl in the End Zone without it being picked.

Anyone who has watched the Skins also knows Campbell can't throw a post or down and out without the receivers having to come back for the ball.

Soooo, why is Campbell still the QB?

WTL, what position do you think the skins will address with their first pick?

I would guess, but I've been wrong (and shocked) every year.

They will bet the house on Mark Sanchez and will trade away half of their future draft picks to get him. He will be playing by November and will get sacked so many times he will be the next Patrick Ramsey by 2011.

If they do get Sanchez, there's a zippy chance he'll play at all in the next 2 seasons. He has to sit for the mandatory 2 years while his talent dies off. Then we can trade him for half what we payed for him.

Snyder has a bug up his ass about Campbell. If he goes for Sanchez or some other flashy QB, he is going to "Jeff George" Zorn into using him, even if he is more ill-prepared than Campbell or Collins.

No doubt. Moss does have to come back to the ball a lot. That one time he hit Moss for the post route for the TD, Moss almost ran laterally across the field to get to the ball.

Still, I think much more could be done with Campbell if he had good protection and receivers with better hands.
