FFXU at Nationals Game
Date: April 18, 2009 04:02PM

Saw a dude hold up an "FFXU" sign during today's Nationals game while Nick Johnson was up at bat. Is it an FFU Alum? Slightly overweight dude with sunglasses and beard. Hmmm. Could be.

LOL, I know who it is. Someone told me about it while it was happening, so I hit the 'record' button on my DVR. I've pixelated the face out, but you can see the sign.

Now THAT's funny.

I was watching it with my oldest son and he was like, "What's FFXU?" If he only knew.

Yeah. They fucked up the game last night, too. My son watched that one, too. He left the room today when they went into the 10th.

As I have said before, the Nats sacrificed a good bullpen for bats. A couple of years ago, they would have ended this game in the 9th.

And I can't believe the Capitals have lost their 2nd game. They dropped "Three-or-more" from goalie for a rookie. The rookie actually did a decent job. However, maybe the Caps need fewer guys on defense who score, like Green, and more guys on defense who play defense.

Anyway so yeah it was Genevieve and I. We get those seats a few times a year and it's awesome, free food and tv time! The players can hear us but they ignore us.

All the players kept trying to read the sign and see what it said... most looked puzzled. At first Gen has a "Fairfax Underground" sign but that was too much for her to handle.

We got lots of pics of the players, I even have several of mr johnson above from the other direction.

True that, but in the past they could not score the runs to get the lead. I love baseball, but it is hard to keep watching this happen.

I had seats in that section before. The wait service with the food allowance is nice. And you get to use the restrooms in the club, so there's never a long line.

Yup. Thanks Margie for the alert--- otherwise I would have never see that massive FAIL the Nats put together in the 9th. It really made me laugh when that FFXU suddenly sign popped up on screen. LOL.

You should credit Stan Kasten and the Lerners. Verizon Center used to be empty during Caps games as well. Then Ted Leonsis spent the money to sign a bunch of great young talent and some hard working veterans and fired an ineffective coach. It's almost impossible, now, to get decent Caps tickets.

If the Lerners field a winning team, they will fill those seats. Nobody is going to go to a game because Ben's Chili Bowl and Five Guys is at the stadium.

I already erased the game. The Nick Johnson at-bat was really the only time that I saw either of you. The sign was visible a bunch of times, but most of the shots in your direction were way too brief, or the camera was jerking around.

I made an edit within 1 minute of the original post. I can't recall what I changed. It is entirely possible that I added "slightly" as not to leave the impression that Fat Albert was sitting back there.

Using the word "slight" is insulting to those of us that are merely, sorta, or kinda overweight, not to mention the psychological harm it does to the pudgy, thick, and big-boned.

It all comes down to each player's stats: the overall shape, firmness and hip-to-waist ratio.
