I would be happy to.
Mister Eesh never did, so far as I know, impersonate the registered name "Mr. Misery," now did he? (Dunno if I'm speaking to Mr. Misery here, but no matter, we can pretend that you are for purposes of today's FU civics lesson.)
Eesh may be guilty of many things, but he's not guilty of
that -- and
that, my friend, is where the rubber meets the road for purposes of attracting, or avoiding, the attention of Cary's dreaded "ban radar".
Now eesh *may* (I don't know) have posted under your *real-life* name, or your sister's name, or your mother's name, or your father's name, and he *may* (I don't rightly know) have said nasty, obnoxious, cruel or even defamatory things about those individuals and your own estimable self.
But that's neither here nor there.
What matters for banning purposes is that, unlike "eesh2," EESH DIDN'T POST UNDER YOUR *
REGISTERED* NAME, AND THEREFORE HE DIDN'T BREAK THE NO-IMPERSONATION RULE.
Dig?
So Officer Cary has no reason to detain him, much less arrest, or deport him from town, like some sort of neo-"Little Bill" Daggett rousting English Bob (who, after all,
did break the rules, by carrying firearms into the town, contrary to posted regulations).
As for SWATTING, what has Cary to do with SWATTING?!?
As Cary once kindly explained to me, "The rules here are designed so that only children or intentionally malicious users will ever be banned."
"Intentionally malicious" = what "eesh2" did -- impersonating a registered name. Or what I did - making fun of eesh.
And Cary. >
hangs head in shame<
SWATTING someone, or whatever crazy pranks the kids are up to these days, that's not Cary's worry. That's none of his business. He's not the policeman for Fairfax and the surrounding environs. He's just trying to run a simple little webpage, designed to enhance communications amongst the citizenry -- who do, occasionally, get outed or otherwise fucked with as a result of their participation in the board, much to their dismay and embarrassment, and, no, Cary provides no warning against such known risks of FU participation, but then the law imposes no such obligation on him, and neither, we may infer, does his conscience.
Hey -- lookee here! There he is now, the man himself -- Cary!
Yo, Cary. >the two
exchange daps, or Cary at least attempts to<
Cary, man, me and oosh were wondering what you think about all this SWATTING stuff that's going down, with FU being kind of at the center of it?
No, dude. The eyes wide shut routine wouldn't cut it this time. This is serious, brah. You can't just shine it on.
Wiedemann erwache!
Yeah, well, that's about what I expected.
It is what it is.
Thus ends the civics lesson.
