I sure hope so!~

Obama is the one person TransCanada can't payoff.

If TransCanada wants to pipe oil through the US instead of Canada they need to pay into the US Oil Spill and Liability Fund. Especially considering all the pipelines spills in the last two years.

Completely ridiculous that Canada won't let TransCanada pipe through Canada so they are going to pipe through the US.

Go for it. The only ones who that will play well with are a small minority of left-end dummies like the above.

Of course he'll veto it. If it's good for America, he's against it.

Nobody wants a TransCanada pipeline in their state.

Nebraska and several other states have already filed motions to reject the constitutional right of the federal government to force the pipeline in the their state.

TransCanada has filed backed against the Landowners-

TransCanada Corp., the Canadian company behind the Keystone XL pipeline, filed eminent domain proceedings against an estimated 90 Nebraska landowners Tuesday to secure the right to build the controversial project across their property.

“Today we initiated these actions in the state of Nebraska, but that does not mean we’re done working toward a voluntary agreement,” said Andrew Craig, TransCanada’s land manager for Keystone projects. “Our goal today is that, over the next six months, we are able to address any concerns they have about the project.... The current landowner will continue to own the land.”

TransCanada’s legal filings are an effort to gain what is called an easement — the right to construct the pipeline on private land that others own. They are the latest step in a years-long fight over the project, which cannot go forward without President Obama’s approval.

There are very few crude pipeline ruptures in the US. Much more likely for gas pipelines to break.

In fact, there were only 7 crude pipeline leaks in 2013 (Arkansas x 2, Missouri, Texas x 2, Oklahoma, North Dakota), 5 in 2014 (Texas, California, Louisiana, New York, Ohio) and 1 so far in 2015 (Montana).

Most crude spills don't even make the paper and are quickly cleaned up.

That you know of. Plus fuck Republicans. How about they focus on something productive like an actual jobs bill. They dont get shit for the rich until they learn how to govern again.

200 jobs to build the pipeline for 2yrs. 50 jobs to maintain it after built. A max total of around 300 jobs created by republicans(Actually TransCanada).

Meanwhile Obama works on the economy adding 150,000 jobs each month. You be the judge.

Your 200 number is ridiculously low. Which is obvious to anyone who puts a moment of actual thought into what it takes to build something of this magnitude.

"During construction, proposed Project spending would support approximately 42,100 jobs (direct, indirect, and induced), and approximately $2 billion in earnings
throughout the United States. Of these jobs, approximately 3,900 would be direct construction jobs in the proposed Project area in Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas (3,900 over 1 year of construction, or 1,950 per year if construction took 2 years). Construction of the proposed Project would contribute approximately $3.4 billion (or 0.02 percent) to the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP). The proposed Project would generate approximately 50 jobs during operations."

http://keystonepipeline-xl.state.gov/documents/organization/221135.pdf

The 50 jobs estimate is only counting those jobs related to directly operating the pipeline itself on a full-time basis. It's not counting any associated and indirect employment. e.g., maintenance, repairs, improvments done by those not working full-time in operations, outside contractors, equipment suppliers, whatever incremental employment at suppliers, contractors, refineries, etc.

Lmao indirect jobs. I bet your counting existing transcanada execs in toronto too huh? 3900 is max for a year for construction then only 45 after that. A blip, absolutely insignificant for job creation.

And this is all Republicans have. For six years Republicans have said jobs jobs jobs vote us in. And this is all they could come up with once in.

42,000 in indirect jobs? LMAO!!!!!!!!!

I guess that includes people who are working at McDonald's where a worker might buy a Big Mac at some point in time? A stewardess on a commercial plane? REALLY in fantasy land with those numbers of "creating jobs."

A normal pipeline laying crew is no more than 45 people. Add another 100 or so for management, admins and delivery of materials. You'll be struggling to break 200.

I guess you retards didn't notice that it's from Obama's State Department's own EIS for the project. lol

Of course they count indirect jobs. Legitimately so. Just like they count indirect economic effects otherwise. And they do, oh, for example, say when counting "jobs created or saved" by things like the stimulus. Or for food stamp transfers. Jobs created by solar and wind projects. etc., etc. Or do you not want to count those now?

Price of oil is up 11% in 2 days. If you libtardz want expensive gas/oil for heat, then you're about to get your wish. Sand niggers overseas predicting close to $200/barrel eventually.

Veto away Barrack Hussein Obama. The cost of food (due to transportation), the cost of heating homes, and the cost of operating cars (gas and oil) will all be on your sorry nigger ass.
