Palin Dissed By Republican Party?

Is the GOP Waving Bye-Bye to Sarah Palin?
April 14, 2009 03:30 PM ET | Paul Bedard | Permanent Link | Print
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

Worse than Dan Quayle before her, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's bright star has fast faded in the eyes of Washington Republican officials and analysts, calling into question her efforts to become a national party figure ready to run for the White House. "She's just not ready for prime time," said a party strategist who has worked for former President Bush. "I mean, she's starting to look like she's having trouble being governor of Alaska." At issue is her weak debut, hampered by the mishandling of her by Sen. John McCain's campaign, and subsequent family issues such as the most recent tiff with Levi Johnston, the father of her first grandchild and ex-fiancé of her daughter Bristol.

Didnt we ALL say goodbye to the daft MILF after the election? LOSERS rarely ever get to play in the big show again.

Palin is not yet ready for primetime but will remain a highly influential figure. She has meny years ahead of her. The republicans who put her down are afraid to lose their power to the new leaders that are emerging. All of the old republicans are to be put to bed by the new movement.

LOL. I saw an article the other day where Palin mentioned something about Alaska being harmed by global warming. That oughta go over big with the Limbaugh crowd. Next thing you know, they'll being blaming Obama for not fixing global warming already.

Palin is correct. Alaska is being harmed by global warming. The democratic fools passing oppressive global warming regulations will, in fact, be very harmful to Alaska and their oil revenues. Alaska can't drill due to stupid federal regulations based upon fake science. Revenue is lost and it hurts every Alaskan.

Right on the money. Sarah made her way to Governor by upsetting the
Status Quo of the Alaska Republican Party. She managed to piss off a
lot of "good ole boyz" along the way. Good for her and I look
forward to seeing her do the same thing in Washington.
Gotta love that gal.

That's not what she said. She was talking about being environmentally harmed by global warming, and specifically mentioned receding glaciers, melting permafrost, coastal erosion, etc. Those are the words she used, not anything about what you wrote.

This is the same dummy who only months ago was shouting "Drill baby, drill."

Talk about a confused political message....

If you read her statement, it is exactly what I said. She mentions global warming in the terms of appeasing the politically correct but the whole of her statement was for increasing drilling and delivery of natural gas. Her statements reflect a desire to stimulate the natural gas industry in Alaska and bring more revenue to the state. Just as I said. More energy = more revenue for the state.

The GOP's glimmer of hope is well polished.

She doesn't say anything at all about "appeasing the politically correct".

She is more toxic than Dan Quayle at this point. Meeper, is it really true she was talking aboot receding glaciers and the such? Some of the Limabugh extremists are even denying that warming is occurring (it is, although whether it is man-made or not, or whether the proposed cures are worse than the disease, remain legitimate debates.)

I blame McCain, though. By March, he knew he was going to be the nominee. He should have started vetting VP candidates around that time. In April, Palin could've been told, 'Get that Troopergate thing under control' and 'Study up on issues that don't directly relate to Alaska.'

She would have then (IMO) gotten to at least Dan Quayle level. I think NC and IN at least would've gone for McCain but not enough to make McCain win. He was doomed when he said, 'the fundamentals of the economy are strong.' (a modern-day 'Poland isn't dominated by the Soviet Union.')

Potato.

His most famous blunder occurred when he corrected student William Figueroa's correct spelling of "potato" to "potatoe" at an elementary school spelling bee in Trenton, New Jersey, on June 15, 1992.

Here's two points that I find to be amazing...

(1) The Dan Quayle Center and Museum is located in Huntington, Indiana, and features information on Quayle and all U.S. vice presidents.

(2) In 2008, Dan Quayle was invited to compete in the 7th season of Dancing with the Stars, but he declined the offer.

For one, he has a museum named after him? WTF.

For two, how comedic would that be if he accepted? LOL.

Palin said:

"We Alaskans are living with the changes that you are observing in Washington,"
she said. "The dramatic decreases in the extent of summer sea ice,
increased coastal erosion, melting of permafrost, decrease in alpine glaciers
and overall ecosystem changes are very real to us.

“Simply waiting for low-carbon-emitting renewable capacity to be large
enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals for
reducing [carbon dioxide] that will be required under most
credible climate-change models,” she warned."
