In my View, I think it's Iraqi Kurdistan.

As much as they hate this area, these goobers don't actually extol anywhere else either. The world is comprised in their eyes of the Norman Rockwell USA and a bunch of other countries inhabited by backward incompetents.

Copts, Maronites and Orthodox are about as normal as the region is, but many are very conservative by American standards.

Many people in the Middle East are born into Islam, but are nowhere close to the burka wearing, bomb throwing stupidity.

Bahai faith and Zorastrians are pretty mellow but weird.

Dubai.
My criteria is where can I celebrate Christmas openly without fear and where there is little no honor killing by the natives?

Israel is a close second but they have a lot of ultra orthodox types who can be violent towards Christians. Kurdistan is a close second also but they practice a lot of honor killing. Everyone likes Kurds because they're our allies and practice capitalism. But they also have a barbaric history and genocided Christians in the past. Ask some Armenians or Assyrians how civilized they think Kurds are. BTW, Christians in the region are indeed very conservative and practice honor killing quite often. Honor killing is like slut shaming but homicidal. It probably goes back to ancient tribal codes.

Christmas is very popular in Dubai, and the only honor killings I heard of are by expats from places like Pakistan. I think there was one by a native, but it was in another emirate of UAE. I'm sure there is more, but I think it's rare. Gulf Arabs (and not Saudis from the inland) are pretty laid back and not extreme. Many are not even pure Arab, and the gulf area is cosmopolitan. Kuwait and Bahrain are also pretty liberal, and was even more so before the rise of Islamism in recent times.

Depends on your definition of civilized. When the wikileaks stuff came out, showing that some of our troops gunned civilians down, by helicopter, for no reason in Iraq, we appeared no more civilized than Afghanistan. Iran appears to be very civilized. Though their leadership appears to be too intertwined with clerics that pass judgement on everyone. If civilized nations are to be based on leadership, than many would consider us uncivilized. That's not just an Obama bash either

Ah, good old Dubai (UAE is actually the name of the country BTW).

Where all of the natives WANT to cut your head off, but are polite enough not to.

I've been to Dubai many times, and all over the Arabian Peninsula. I never heard of anyone wanting to cut off someone's head. Being in Chop Chop square in Riyadh is the closet thing I got to head chopping.

We have an awfully barbaric history too.
Look at what we did to the Indians and blacks
I hate to say it, but its true
And the excuses that were given were often wrongly cited to be religious. For we had to show them the christian way. Kind of similar to excuses of the islamists of today

Why does the progtard playbook always have to go back several centuries or more and present some bad act by whitey or colonials like it offsets whats going on today in Islam?

America fought a war to end slavery and white people died fighting.

Think about the present. Think about the present. Think about the present.

Can we consider Turkey the middle east for the sake of discussion here? Especially because the question is posted by what seems to be an ignorant goober.

I would say Turkey is pretty bad ass. 1.4 trillion dollar GDP, 5 percent growth and a modernized military capable of addressing any threat.

As a 6 gender (I'll give you the rundown if you want - I'm like the WD-40 of sexuality: one blend to meet a multitude of needs) Iranian, I can tell you the country is open to varying gender roles as long as you are talented in nuclear warfare.

I'm a nuclear scientist, so they need me to fast-track their nuclear program - but overall Iran is not very open to anything outside of 2nd century norms....Women without proper hajibs have acid thrown on them in the streets - it's considered normal policing....

I'm sure after Iran has operational nuclear weapons they'll string me up by my various gender organs and burn my corpse....But for now, I'm ok.. :)

There's honor killing in America too...KKK kill babies in the name of Christ..Dubai has a Bad Government (they treat foreigners bad) Every Culture has bad culture...like how Germany Had Nazism, how the United States treat American Indians. And also did you know that Kurdish people back then (6th century AD) thought against ISLAM...and the people that tried to force them were Arabs from Present day Saudi/UAE

No. Tunisia frequently arrest singers for insulting the government in their lyrics.

Just one example:

Tunisia isn't in the Middle East. It's North Africa.

Even though it's also in Africa, Egypt is generally considered the westernmost of the Middle East states.

That's the strict definition of the Middle East. Many more countries are associated with the Middle East, it's why the term Greater Middle East was coined. It's accurate to call Tunisia a Middle Eastern country.
