Rand Paul Actually Gets It Right

I'm not really a Rand Paul supporter, but he sure knows how to hit the nail on the head.

He acknowledged that the shooting death of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer wasn't related to drugs, but argued that outsized penalties for nonviolent drug crimes creates a "tension in some communities that too often results in tragedy."

Maybe. But that still removes all responsibility from MB for his actions. Charging an armed cop is bad, charging him while you yourself are unarmed is just stupid.

This is beyond Brown. We all (here at least) know that Brown alone is responsible for his death. What Rand Paul is trying to explain is, at least part of, the reason why such high tensions exists between police and black communities.
