Upside down roasted turkey will not look as good but it will taste much better. This works very well with butterball turkey but any turkey is better upside down. All the juices run to the breast and make it super tender.
Thank you, sir. Do you know if the butterballs have guts in them? I can see and can fit my big ass hand down the hole to check. The recipient says to remove them before brining. Also, what the hell is a giblet? I know what a goblet is but damn what is a giblet.
I get the butcher to cut a 11 to 13 pound turkey in half then I lay the split turkey in a dutch oven and roast it for 3 hours in a campfire keeping a few hot coals on top. after 3 hours lift the lid and throw in carrots,potatoes,celery,onion,red pepper the let it cook for another hour. Good shit! splitting the turkey makes it cook more evenly.
