You are kidding right? OF COURSE EVERY NEWS MEDIA WANTS A RIOT! Every media channel wants rating. That's all they care about. It's no longer about real news or reporting facts, it's about reporting and covering stories that will yield the most viewers.

Why do you never see stories about cops helping the public? Because the general public don't care and won't watch. 99% of these types of "hyped" stories is all generated from the media JUST FOR RATINGS AND MONEY FROM SPONSORS!!!

They want ratings. If it takes kids running over their Grandmas in stolen cars, so be it. Ratings rule the world.

They are a parody of themselves. Even Jon Stewart says they are terrible...just shoddy reporting.

After CNN had a ratings bonanza for its non-stop coverage of baby Jessica McClure's peril after falling in a well, Ted Turner, while drunk, commented at a well attended dinner event that his new business model now inlcluded placing candy bars on the edge of wells hoping that other children might tumble into them. Despite the dark humor, this is what television news uses to sell commercial time. It should not be confused with journalism.
