Check again. That name has a Chantilly address as well as a Chantilly phone number. There are real estate records that clearly show a Chantilly address. That person also participates in running marathons around the South Riding area.

Having said that, I realize that it is unrealistic for Gerry to be that person. However, the Android phone Gerry is using could be in that woman's name, just as the phone number that Mr. Misery has repeatedly called me from is in his father's name. Gerry is probably a son of that woman or a sibling.

If you open a private message or a thread with an embedded web tracker (aka a web bug), your IP address is going to be sent to whoever planted the tracker.

This has been an ongoing game amongst FFXU users going back for many years.

Once someone has your IP address, they can use that information to track you down with greater or lesser success, depending on how much money and time they're willing to spend to find you.

If you don't like this, either use a web proxy or just stop using Fairfax Underground.

The way I understand it is, if you open an a tracker with your cell phone, the sender of that particular tracker gets not only your IP, he also gets your browser type and a couple of other fun things.

Now, in our good friend Ravi's case, Eesh was able to somehow get his actual phone number off of the IP address that he got from the tracker. What eesh gained from this was a monumental victory, as once you have someone's cell number connected to their IP, it takes little to no effort to effectively identify them.

I typically feel bad when this sort of thing happens, but I've gotta say, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Think it's a coincidence he hasn't posted since he got outed? Eesh blew him the fuck out on every level and now anyone who ever had a bone to pick with him has his address, his phone number, his posting history, his name, his wife's name, and a plethora of other information.

Its definitely him. He's sent those to several people and was caught red handed posting one on the forum (note, Cary knows this and did zero about it).

He knows he's teetering on the edge of a felony now with four separate class 1 misdemeanors plus the lawsuit. I'm afraid of what he could do, considering he certainly realizes it's all over (this website is his life after all). I know nothing about Megan or any of the stuff surrounding her. But I would personally feel threatened in a real way knowing he now knows where I live.

Get the ball rolling on criminal charges for his revenge porn offenses. Hopefully it will get him thrown in jail for at least a few days. In the meantime, get a security camera and just be careful.

I hope you made a police report about the note in your mailbox. If this just happened, report it and turn the note over to the police. They may or may not dust for fingerprints. It's important to ALWAYS report incidents like this.
