The genie is out of the bottle now. Even if there were a "nuclear police", USA wouldn't be qualified to do so. We're launched atomic weapons at Japan, used depleted uranium in bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and sell our secrets to India and China...plus we just give them away to Israel. So now Pakistan is a target? Good for them. T Hey have every right to be armed, since, after all, we've illegally invaded their country multiple times to look for "insurgents".

We need to rebuild OUR country. that $1,500,000,000.00 is better put to use here, working on things that need to be worked on. Investing a penny into Pakistan is money tossed down the toilet.

It's pretty much been a stated policy of Presidents for decades that the U.S. is against to proliferation of nuclear weapons. Where the Hell have you been?

As for the depleted uranium, if it takes depleted uranium for U.S. weapons to cut through an enemy tank, I say fine. Personally, I think the exploding shell inside the tank makes the radiation risk moot.

WTL, I would agree with your reasoning about protecting the Nukes from Al Queda if I believed thats where the money was going, but I don't think that's the case. I think it's more about extortion, in that if we don't give them the money, well, something bad might happen. Or possibly the other way around. Maybe we're giving them the money to allow us to bomb northern Pakistan. Either way, it's wrong.

Why not just buy the nukes from them and get rid of them altogether? A.Q. Khan is no longer around to re-build them (I think). The money we've been giving them up until now have not prevented chaos by any stretch. The nutters have taken northern pakistan, are growing and moving south quickly. How is the money from us going to stop this, especially since Pakistans military has repeatedly shown it's ineptness to do anything.

Another option is giving the extremist's they're own little country. That way, Pakistan can wash their hands of the terrorists and the US can bomb with impunity. Everyone is happy.

Pakistan is lost unless they summon the courage to save itself. If they want any money from the USA, they should have to prove that they're making some sort of effort to stem the growing extremism that's about to destroy the country.

In Spain, where wind turbines provided 11 percent of power demand last year, generators earn rates as much as 11 times more for renewable energy compared with burning fossil fuels.

The premiums paid for solar, biomass, wave and wind power - - which are charged to consumers in their bills -- translated into a $774,000 cost for each Spanish “green job” created since 2000, said Gabriel Calzada, an economics professor at the university and author of the report.

“The loss of jobs could be greater if you account for the amount of lost industry that moves out of the country due to higher energy prices,” he said in an interview.
