My understanding of "swatting" is that you get a hold of some random long unused junk cellphone and use it to make the call. Per FCC regulations every cell phone activated or not, with or without a sim card is capable of making a 911 call. In most cases these old phones are not traceable except maybe to the original owner who had nothing to do with the "swat".

The thing about open carry guys is they are truly afraid. Why else would you advertise that you have a gun? So that no one would mess with you. Stupidly for them, the element of surprise to some wannabe bad ass is much sweeter in my opinion. And most of the time it's some guy that no one would ever even notice otherwise, he has nothing anyone wants to steal and he's so invisible without the gun no one would even mess with him. So this guy got what he deserved for being such a punk, only women should open carry, period!

I was open carrying on the Virginia beach boardwalk in August of 2013. Some stupid kid tried to spit in my face and I tried to defend myself but not with my gun. Long story short, I got convicted of brandishing a firearm, got probation, community service and my ccp was revoked. In Virginia open carry is a really bad idea. I NEVER drew my weapon or even threatened to do so. I was convicted of brandishing just because I had a little .38 revolver on my belt! Fucking bullshit! The kid was not charged with anything.
