Depression?

Fellow FFXU folks,

Over the last few weeks I've begun feeling, not necessarily depressed, but uninterested in everything. I work a lot, make decent money, own my own home, and have two cars. I'm fairly attractive and have no problems picking up women. I used to look forward to the weekends when I could go out with friends, go drinking, watch football, etc. Nowadays, I don't seem to care about things as much. Going out with friends seems to be a hassle, going to bars is boring, football is now just a big marketing and revenue-generating campaign. I find myself drinking more and more at home and drinking myself to sleep. Do I need to start doing drugs? I just feel like there's nothing to look forward to anymore.

Any ideas?

In before: contard/libtard/teabagger/kill yourself.

Thx

Sounds like you're single, find a good girl to love, not just to fuck. Sport fucking is fine, but after a while you need to settle down with someone.

It's called getting older.

As the seasons change the sun shines less, it's colder, leaves falling...
Your mind and body just have to adjust

It wil get better - the Christmas season starts tomorrow!

Welcome to maturity. Soon you will find that everything you see or hear on TV, radio, internet, etc is geared toward people younger than you. Its not an easy transition. Good reason to get depressed really

There's a lot to look forward to - especially marriage and children. Kids add a whole new dimension to your life. You're in a better place than most financially. That's a great start for a family.

One thing I know for sure - drinking will only make things worse. If you can find the time and force yourself to do it, volunteering to help other people will also help you.

You have to exercise every day. Could be Seasonal Affective Disorder. I agree with comments on drinking alcohol - there is no problem that alcohol cannot make worse. Stop drinking for awhile. If you have trouble stopping or are currently drinking heavily every day you should talk to your doctor about it before quitting (DT's can be life threatening).

Do something to help others. It helps keep perspective. Foodbank, nursing home, habitat for humanity...many others, as with most volunteering, you become a big fish in a small pond as opposed to real life....It feels good to be needed and making yourself do shit because other people are depending on you help keep you grounded. And don't kill yourself. It just devastates everyone around you and pretty much ruins your day as well.

Take up a hobby, like stamp collecting or knitting. It will help boost your self confidence and give you something exciting to talk about around others.

Vitamins (iodine + co-supplements therapy : http://curezone.org/forums/f.asp?f=815) are great for boosting mood and energy levels.

Also, starting a family takes the focus away from your needs and shifts them towards helping others (good for the heart).

Exercise. Whenever you start to feel like a waste of life, just drop and bang out a set of push-ups. Try to stay busy.

This too.

Just don't combine the two. You're heart'll 'splode.
