My wife was given a $20k gift certificate from work for Arhaus furniture. WTF? What company does that shit? It was one of the prizes at the annual party. Just give us the cash.

The company probably got it for a nice discount, especially if they gave the same bonus to others there. Highly unlikely it's redeemable for cash.

Sucks too, if your place is already furnished to your liking. You can always buy some shit and sell it if you don't mind the hassle.

She says we have to claim it as income.
We'll probably use it to get a new couch or something for my office.

That's a big step up from your Value City Furniture decor, hopefully your dogs and your wife's fat ass won't ruin it.

As usual, we know you're full of shit. Why do you keep the charade up, Mr. CEO? Does playing out some fantasy life online make you feel better about your real life, poor and miserable? Everytime you're back to reality, I'm sure that only makes your reality even worse.

Being in a position to award gifts to deserving employees is a wonderful feeling. Being in a position not to sucks. What's worse in when things are so bad you have to freeze salaries, cut benefits, or are sweating making the next payroll.

I've been in business long enough to experience all those up and down situations.

The shit really hits the fan mostly when the Republicans shut down the Government, fail to pass a budget, or blow up the entire global economy.

Are you gonna take this furniture with you when you're hiking the Appalachian Trail?

Why don't you donate it to the needy then you can claim a deduction?

Or is this makebelieve land that you live in?

I think I'm going to move some of our old furniture to the beach house that way I can write it off as a business expense.

It's the other way round Jack
beach house is investment prop thats where the write off is not on primary residence.

I just go along with your make believe and complement the beautiful view you have.

I'm actually going to put some of this old furniture onto the spacecraft I've been building. There it will serve to keep me comfortable as I explore the farthest reaches of our solar system, and beyond.

I may end up using the 20K gift card for some new furniture for my time capsule, but it will have to wait until I'm done hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1765. I can't wait.

Hey anti American lib who will never own any investment property. If I buy something for one of my properties, I can write it off. I do it all the time. A lawnmower, dishwasher, I even write off my expenses when I travel there for vacation because I do work to the property.

First thing is you'd have to have an income to understand paying taxes let alone knowing of ways not to pay taxes, legally. libs only refuse to pay taxes and get put on the Obama administration.

After many years of performing exhaustive research, I have discovered the lost art of turning old furniture upholstery into sheets of gold. 24 carats. Today I will begin transforming my old furniture into precious metals, contributing to our economy. In fact, just this morning i turned an old end table into a valuable piece of silver through the process known as "transmutation".
