Up until 1971, the dollar was, for the most part, pegged to the International Gold Standard until Nixon dropped the dollar from it.

and Washington 1971 was when Ron Paul dedicated his life to politics and to save the Dollar.
note- he is trying to end the F.E.D

Well then...Ron Paul is a total failure. And as far as associating everything to the delinking the monetary supply from the gold satandard....so did every other country in the world. The world would be quite different if we had maintained the gold standard...for one thing our standard of living would be drastically reduced as we would have no monetary policy to manage.

i'm not saying we should still be on the gold standard. if the FED didnt fuck around with our monetary system switching interest rates and shit in the 60's and 70's all the nations in the world would still base their currency off the USD which was based relatively to gold
