Just to clear it up, while it IS an incredibly stupid story, it's absolutely possible. He said you remembered his email password and set up an account with the site using that (so that it would be traced to him). It's then logical to think that he could log into that account with the forgotten password button and the password would be emailed to his account.


So concentrate on your own holes, you're not cut out for investigative work.
