I don't use Instagram. As for Facebook though, I'm not so sure if that old trick works the way it used to anymore, The last time I went to clean out my friends list, all deactivated accounts showed up in the list. You can tell they're deactivated, and you can delete them just as easily as profiles that are in use. So yeah, not sure how the ghost accounts go undetected on Meg's list.
