I don't care what the officer's name was. I don't care what his race is. All I care about is that he not be given preferential treatment. If the shooter was an adult civilian, do you think the police or prosecutors office would have withheld his name?

Also Evidence it doesn't matter whether the deceased had committed a crime earlier in the day. It was up to the courts, not the arresting officer, to determine whether the deceased was guilty of the crime and what punishment was appropriate. The only question at the moment was whether the deceased at the time of his arrest did something which posed a serious risk to the life or safety of the police officer or to others on the scene, justifying the use of deadly force.

Actions have consequences. Robbery, assault, then assault on a police officer = death. He made his choice and got what he deserved.

Well we all know what those were for. I doubt he and his buddy were headed to the local cigar bar to trade stock tips with other businessmen.

Be that as it may, he still didnt deserve to get blasted unless he really was fighting the cop for his gun. What Im sick and tired of is every time something like this happens, the victim is always portrayed as some saintly pony riding innocent "little boy" when in reality most of them are already criminals at a young age.

The robbery, if true, makes the officer's story that he was being assaulted, even in the car, more believable. So in my mind it is conceivable the shots fired from inside the vehicle may have been kosher by police rules.

The question is then at what point should the officer have stopped shooting. Witnesses say he had his hands up, but then again the guy walking with him said they weren't on the sidewalk and then had to get back on the sidewalk. And I haven't seen a human hand on the planet that could have grabbed Brown by the neck and pulled him toward a car form the inside through a window, no way that part was true.

Lawful or not, reality is once you physically fight with a police officer the consequences can be bad and unfair, which is why fighting with a cop is stupid.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but once you've done something that incites an officer to draw his weapon(and it doesn't take much in the right circumstances) you no longer have the right to throw your hands up and go "Dont kill me lolz, i know i went for your gun but i give up"

I'll bet after he was shot he might have thrown up his hands and approached the officer in a manner that cause the officer to feel "grave bodily harm to his person existed", a charge perhaps that in that circumstance was viewed as dangerous and real, after all the deceased was a big boy. I think the officer "might" have done the proper thing, in those circumstances, that is the nature of things.
