Called American express and answered some security questions. They had me drive to a Holiday inn about 20 miles from where I was and they fixed it so I got a room and they had the desk clerk give me 40 dollars in cash. The next morning a fedex package was slid under the door of my hotel room with a new AMEX card. That was so good I almost cried. Fucking customer service like that is rare.

Lesson learned though, if you go on a long trip stash one credit card in the car somewhere.

You don't have any friends or family you could share this with?

Will AMEX call other credit card companies on your behalf to let them know all your cards have been lost, or do you have to find each telephone number for each bank card and call them all up?

Yeah, that is a good company. I have a rarely used Exxon card that stays in the car. Only has a 500 dollar limit butt I figure It can get me home if I lose or forget the wallet.

Not sure about that but I only carry 3 cards, Visa, shell oil and Amex. Had pictures of front and back of each card on my phone so canceling was easy. Only Amex asked me if I needed help. The other two just said they would mail me a card.

Amex is awesome, customer service is why I am with them

That's the only restaurant that honors that card.

They shut my car down twice, Because someone was trying to make fraudulent purchases And they picked it up. Yeah they do have great customer service

American express was my first card I got as a college student with a income of 5000 bucks a year. Nothing upscale about it,, any asswipe can get one.

You must have the optional travel insurance. They wont help regular cardholders like that.

Don't leave home without it.

I got a room at at a quality inn that turned out to be a Low Quality inn. I used my Amex card to pay for it. One call to Amex and not only was the room charge removed from my account but Choice hotels sent me a letter of apology and a 100 dollar discount code for a stay at any Choice hotel in the next 6 months. Damn they are good!

if you would make your car payments that buy here pay here lot would not be shutting your car off

The only reason to stay at a "Choice Hotel" is when you're in the middle of BFE and there is nothing else available. Some of them are tolerable, but it's a total crapshoot. Yeah I use Amex 100% for travel, and for appliance purchases to get the double warranty.

This is not the first story about the American express when people found it helpful. I've been using its credit card and personally addressed american express customer service several times. I haven't faced any issues yet. And I like that this company offers not only credit but also business, corporate, personal, and gift cards.

I banged a hooker in a Choice Hotel once. I paid in cash. I left my wallet at home so it wouldn’t get stolen. Room was ok but I didn’t look at it real close. I was only there for an hour

You got some bad information, Me Bubbo. AMEX will do that for anybody who has 1 of their cards, even if it's only a green one.

My sister got her purse snatched in Philly. She was there for work related reasons. She got back to her hotel & called me and had me go into her Google photos and get out the card info while she was at the police station getting interviewed. I got it and told it to her so she wrote down all the info. The popo let her call the credit card issuers from their phone.

She told me later when she called AMEX, they put her thru the usual. Of course, she told AMEX her purse had been snatched. They took her info and cancelled the stolen card. They asked her where she was staying in Philly so she told them. The next day, a FedEx envelope with her new card was on the floor near the door to her room. The only card she had from them was the green card.

A buddy of mine lost his wallet or got pickpocketed in Dallas. Same thing, except he had a gold AMEX. The next day, a FedEx envelope with a new AMEX was waiting for him at the front desk of his hotel.

You pay a fee for AMEX, but it's worth every penny you pay. There aren't many businesses that remember or know what real customer service is, but AMEX does. I have the green and blue and don't begrudge any fees I pay.

Gerrymanderer2 (G2, the OP original poster or spammer just above, perhaps both) posts several lies on ffu daily - many think he's a fx co gov worker who is getting paid to do it for false DNC democrat "advertising". G2 continually posts racist posts and gay posts egging others to comment - then attacks who does - AND RECORDS IT (likely for political extortion). G2 and dems MONITOR AND RECORD* "conservatives who blast out these democrat lies and illegal abuse of telephone privilege (sometimes in a raw manner, being so jaded by the job)" (users who object to G2's actions listed so far). One ffu member discovered a south american country recording FFU databasing all posts in a non-chat database format - and when questioned - another member quickly said it was all coincidence and that this was done everywhere in the world on all sites: WHICH IS A LIE. Not all countries record the every word of what fairfaxians say on blogs. Extortion is also mentioned by G2.
