NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- The nonprofit Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation is putting a 126-foot wooden ship up for sale.
Foundation board president Tom Ackiss says the money required to sail and maintain the schooner Virginia outpaced the amount brought in by fundraising and sailing education programs.
Executive director Will King says the foundation has about $1 million in debt -- the same amount it costs to keep the ship operating.

it's illegal for a non-profit to use funds so to aquire land / ship or (subst hodling) they will then sell for wages
it's also illegal for a non-profit TO CREATE AND CLAIM DEBT ON THE USA TAX PAYER
(they have a budget, and if you see non-profit workers drive foreign bmw - you can see the margin is too much already - and most of these are in NVA not norfolk though)

since when is it the job of 501c non-proft public works legislators to build "playground for the rich" ships, non-working ships, using taxes and sell them to fund paychecks ?
my ass that's your job
but moreso the accounting. a gov run museum doen't pay $1,000,000 to build something claim they are $1,000,000 bankrups then sell it for paychecks. that IS NOT LEGAL nor how gov museums are allowed to aquire or manage museum funds. and it's a "non-profit" not even a museum selling to any (rich) buyer.
