It has Charlize Theron playing a post-apocalyptic dirty slut. What more do you want?

Blessed are the murderous.

Wasn't "Mad Max: Fury Road" actually filmed several years ago? I seem to remember reading about it and wonder why it's taken so long to be released.

Yea, 21st century effects are great and all, but it's hard to beat the last scene of the gutsy 1970s original...

Max Rockatansky: The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel. It'd take you ten minutes to hack through it with this. Now, if you're lucky, you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go!

Johnny the Boy: You're mad, man! You think I look silly, don't ya? Ha ha... Don't bring this on me man! Don't do this to me! Please, sweet Jesus, I was sick!

I would have been inclined to agree that this was just another BS money grab. Then I saw that Tom Hardy is playing Max.
Couldnt have filled that role any better unless you gave Mel a couple fifths of whisky and threw him in there.

Tom Hardy is legit. Check some of his other work.

Is this a remake of one of the plot lines (thank God the trailer doesn't appear to be a remake of Thunderdome) or a different part of the storyline? If the latter it might be kind of cool to explore that.

Mel IS Mad Max, just like Peter Sellers is Inspector Clouseau, Sean Connery is James Bond, Basil Rathbone is Sherlock Holmes, Sylvestor Stallone is Rocky, John Wayne is Rooster Cogburn, John Belushi and Dan Akroyd are the Blues Brothers. No compromise, no imitations, no Johnny come lately<

Vernon Wells has gotta be pushing 70 by now - the only thing he's ready to fight now is incontinence.

>Wasn't "Mad Max: Fury Road" actually filmed several years ago?

It was - a friend of mine worked on the stunts for this, and I think it wrapped last summer (or was it the one before last?). She's promised to fill me in on all the dirt but only in person.

The preview looks awesome.

Eesh is right about one thing. It LOOKS good.

Obviously, getting George Miller involved was the right step towards maintaining visual continuity from the earlier films. But, as we've seen with so many of these retreads, reboots, etc...a film has to tell a good story to be a complete experience. Nothing on that trailer suggests it's a good story. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic and open to being epically disappointed.

They are driving on the left side of the road, but they do that in Namibia, where it was filmed.
