The rich are getting richer because they are hoarding and preparing. When (and I do mean when) the system collapses, people with no savings or gold or guns or ammo will all be shit out of luck. The US will turn into a military state and people will be forced to rely on the government. The move the government will try is to seize the bank accounts from the wealthy. Lets get a law passed that gives those in the US who might be interested, the choice to take their personal total Social Security allotment as earned in the US in a lifetime, move it to another country of choice and switch the "Social Security lump-sum payment from the US into the new country's retirement program. Then they can leave the thugs, socialists and the rest of the moochers and useless eaters to pile up here until they destroy the now-empty hand that feeds them off the sweat and work of the few. This way those who see the future coming have the chance to leave while they can still salvage their life, their earned life's savings and keep themselves out of the clutches of an early death as a lab rat for big pharma. .

Yes and no. The systems have Congressional limitations built into them as well as demographic issues. The issue is partially that every time the GOP talks about Medicare reform, it's accused of wanting Grandma to not have Medicare.
