(btw the page is news - has only pictures and text, and some nasty google ads. it has buttons but the original MOSAIC PROTOCOL was to get text first display it, fill in images. java came later, it was hacked in, it should be like images - specify where it will draw and fill in only after text. then there was enhanced markup language MADE BY CHINA - WHICH CAUSED WEB PAGES TO BE UN-PRINTABLE AND RENDERED FAR MORE SLOWLY css style sheets. big tech threw that in why? bill clinton.) next came "parsing support" by microsoft in version 6.

HTML
Dynamic HTML HTML5 audio canvas video XHTML Basic Mobile Profile C-HTML HTML element span and div HTML attribute HTML frame HTML editor Character encodings Unicode Language code Document Object Model Browser Object Model Style sheets CSS Font family Web colors HTML scripting JavaScript WebGL WebCL W3C Validator WHATWG Quirks mode Web storage Rendering engine. the REAL LIST IS MUCH MUCH LONGER IF YOU'VE EVER READ THE CODE. WIKIPEDIA IS LYING ABOUT THE LIST'S LENGTH AND DEPTH AND PURPOSE.
Comparisons
Document markup languages HTML support XHTML 1.1

NOW - SUN MICRO / ORACLE BASED THEIR OS CONFIGURATION ON WEB PAGES. BUT TO DO THAT YOUR WEB BROWSER MUST OBEY STANDARDS.

BUT AS YOU SEE - THEY KEEP BREAKING STANDARDS AND THEN MAKING NEW STANDARDS

So, what seemed like an ok idea to Sun in 1990's is now a wreck: a modern web browser might kill a server expecting a "standards based browser to be acting".

(no doubt oracle had at least some hours of work fixing the damage so they're web management would not be destroyed by new "standards don't care got a new library" hackers. any bets?)

the chinese addition made sure WEB PAGES WERE NOT PRINTABLE ON A PAGE - this favored chinese cheap crap printers over far superior HP postcript printers at the time. it was terrorism - and under clinton - became a standard. it also allowed big tech to terrorise end users with forced upgrades: css was highly broken and many flawed releases were released.

anyone at the time would be afraid to say it had been an attack because china had "personalized it" and it would hurt a man's feelings.

I know the truth. China tech always goes for the throat. Japan and other asian countries, india, muslims: also believe technology is what you can get away with - they only want war.

forgot to say - (files) i'm copying are on a USB drive - so this isn't a case of high speed memory saturating my bus. it's just big tech making sure they are one up on any end user. (for stupid millenials - big tech doesn't develop on the machines they are selling - you should understand they are set apart from you)

1993: opening a blank web page with mosaic takes maybe a 100 bytes

1998: opening a blank web page using ubuntu/apache2 takes 10,000,000 bytes

2005: opening a blank web page using apple takes 100,000,000 bytes

can i sell you some memory, your memory is low? old microsoft trick.
