Typical xenophobic liberal. 30 seconds for "hate". No, its not a
western "twang". Its the Louisiana dialect. You not only hate his
heritage but embrace dialectical discrimination as well.

I have nothing against Bobby Jindal. He might actually be a good President. The problem is the Republicans are racist, despite their protestations to the contrary. I don't see "Joe the Plumber" voting for this guy.

He can't become president, Barack Obama's grandmother admitted that Jindal was born in Kenya.

The trouble is that I don't see his party voting for him.

The other Republican calculation is that they have to appeal to those racists who might not vote at all if they have to choose between Obama and Jindal.

As opposed to the racists who called us up here in NoVA during the potomac primaries and told us to vote for Hillary instead of Obama because he is, well you know, one of "them" as the caller from Hillary's campaign told me.

Ummm, Hillary tried to appeal to racists and lost. It would tend to support my argument that Democrats aren't as racist as Republicans (besides the fact Dems elected a black man President).

She lost ?! She is your sekretary or State! She, a racist with racist followers, is now representing you overseas!

And don't get started with the black man president thing. Repubs are the only ones to put a black man AND woman in Hillary's current position. And Repubs are the only ones to seat a black Supreme Court justice in _over forty years_, fourteen or so which had demokrat presidents in the White House. So much for demokratik support of African Americans in our courts.

Cleary, this was posturing by the Republicans as these positions are APPOINTED and not elected.

You are right, how telling that the Republicans will appoint minorities to higher positions when they are "easy" appointments where they could put any supporter in there, and demokrats will not. Funny how demokrats just don't trust minorities to extremely high-level appointments in government and in the courts.

Don't misunderstand, I don't expect demokrats to give the Republicans any credit for their placement of minorities in extremely important positions. That would interfere with fooling minorities into thinking the demokrats are the only party that will raise them up in power. The fact that the facts fly in the face of that is secondary.

That's great. If your expectations are already low, keep them there.

That way, come 2012, you'll swallow the bitter pill much easier when Obama is elected to a 2nd term.

The only thing that Republicans can lead is a prayer. So long as it includes choir boys.

My understanding is that Bill Clinton would have appointed Powell Secretary of State first, but Powell turned him down. Clinton appointed the first woman Secretary of State.

I will give Bush credit for appointing a black woman as Secretary of State. I don't give him as much credit for appointing Powell because anyone would have been happy to have had him and the American public was pretty much open to the idea. And, besides, Bush nearly destroyed Powell's reputation. I'm sure these days Powell wishes he hadn't trusted the bastard.

And the of the last 40 years, a democratic president nominated exactly TWO to the Supreme Court. One a white female and one a white male, both jewish, if that matters. Presumably they were chosen for their accumen as judges not for the color of their skin or their gender.

So, of 18 nominees, 13 were confirmed and of those, there were 10 white males, 1 black male, 2 white females. So, while there may have been a democratic president, it doesn't mean they had an opportunity to appoint a Justice. The office is usually a lifetime appointment. It's not something that changes regularly.

You are so right, and knowing how rare it is I am glad Republicans took the opportunity to boost minorities. It is telling that the demokrats didn't. That is the point of my posts on the matter. They could have found good minority judges. Or is it that the demokrats believed they couldn't?

Reel him in boys..lol

The whole story of his immigrant father was a little too convenient in trying to share a story with Obama. He may be smart, but his presentation was weak and he didn't come across as such. All the big government, wasteful spending rings a little hollow too given how much the last 3 Republican presidents ran the country. btw- Is it really hard to get a good communicator at this level?

Oh, and $300 million for government vehicles! The Border Patrol and DEA should patrol the border on their feet! What is Obama thinking??

Could be a waste could be a money earner. Volcano monitoring sounds like a pretty friggin good idea. How many millions in damage could be avoided with eruption warnings - I bet a lot more than 150 million dollars.

Seriously, if Mt. Rainier erupted, which is a real possibility, and there was no early warning, the deaths from Katrina and 9/11 would pale in comparison.

Some pundits weigh in..The folksy thing is spot on..

"David Brooks, a conservative New York Times columnist who has criticized aspects of the stimulus plan, nonetheless called Jindal's arguments "insane" and tone-deaf given the dire economic challenges the country faces.

"To come up in this moment in history with a stale, 'Government is the problem, you can't trust the federal government' is just a disaster for the Republican Party," Brooks said on PBS' "The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer." "It's not where the country is, it's not where the future of the country is."

Fox News commentator Juan Williams focused on Jindal's delivery.

"It came off as amateurish, and even the tempo in which he spoke was singsongy," Williams said, adding that the content of the speech was "very simplistic and almost childish."

Penni Pier, a political communication specialist at Iowa's Wartburg College, said Jindal's presentation was overly colloquial and his message of less government and more tax cuts was substantively thin.

"It sounded like the same old rhetoric — we had tax cuts the last eight years, and look where it got us," Pier said. "Jindal was also trying to be so familiar, he lost credibility. Obama is familiar, but at the same time always a statesman.""

Trains into Las Vegas are not part of the plan. The plan for over 10 years has been midwest train transpot, hubbing out of Chicago.

The volcano monitoring is only six million dollars.

Funny the Republicans are bitching about trains. Amtrak would be making money if it only had to serve Blue State corridors like the Northeast, California and Chicagoland. Instead, Amtrak has to send trains to Buttfuck, Arkansas and Fucktard, Wyoming so NRA-loving, Limbaugh-listening Red State grannies can catch trains to Atlantic City and Las Vegas to spend "their hard earned money." This is because assholes like Boner cry like little bitches when Amtrak tries to do what Republicans say they want it to do...make a profit.

Biden's a MORON...has always been a MORON....will always be a MORON...."But what I don't understand from Governor Jindal is what would he do?," asks Joe Biden while on the Early Show. And That rhetorical question to Governor Jindal on the Early Show, was followed with this. "in Louisiana there's 400 people a day losing their jobs, what's he doing?" asks Biden. But that claim is wrong, if you look at the numbers from the Louisiana Workforce Commission. "In December, Louisiana was the only state in the nation besides the District of Columbia, according to the national press release that added employment over the month," says Patty Granier with the Louisiana Workforce Commission. According to her, not only is Louisiana not losing jobs. "The state gained 3,700 jobs for the seasonally adjusted employment," Granier said of the most recent figures.

Yeah, but how does that compare to "What the fuck is this Volcano monitoring nonsense??? And what about this train from Vegas to Disneyland (there is nothing in the stimulus about a train from Vegas to Disneyland. Jindal is a bigger liar)."

Bobby Jindal is a one-term governor of Louisiana who will soon be working at the RNC instead of running for President.

I was listening to Washington Journal on C-SPAN Radio this morning and all the fucking Joe Plumbers out there were screaming about Obama saying he would turn around the economy by now and asking why Obama hasn't gotten Bin Laden yet.

The man has been President for FIVE WEEKS! These same people were like, "There's no way Bush could have protected America on 9/11" after being in office for NINE MONTHS!

Face it. The Republican Party, as a whole, is composed of FUCKING STUPID PEOPLE!

Seriously I dont get it. Are the Conservatives (moreover is Jindal personally) so absurd that they (he) would mock a high speed rail and then request it from the Stimulus plan. Jindal makes up a story about rescue boats and a sheriff and now it turns out his comments mocking high speed rail come on the tail of his own admin. trying to get $110,000,000 for a high speed rail itself! I know politicians on both sides are absurd but where has the 'art of the lie' gone - GOP is not even trying to use persuasive arguement anymore.

I think it is a mistake. I think they will fall much farther than the corrupt Dems of the 90's if they keep this up. They cannot play the Rove game of the last 8 years - that has played its course. The time for bald-faced lies is over. They need to work some mojo into their game or they will become a laughing-stock.

Seriously I dont get it. Are the Conservatives so absurd that they would mock a high speed rail and then request it from the Stimulus plan. Jindal makes up a story about rescue boats and a sheriff and now it turns out his admin. is trying to get a high speed rail itself! I know politicians on both sides are absurd but where has the 'art of the lie' gone - they just do not even try anymore.

I think it is a mistake. I think they will fall much farther than the corrupt Dems of the 90's if they keep this up. They cannot play the Rove game of the last 8 years - that has played its course. The time for bald-faced lies is over. They need to work some mojo into their game or they will become a laughing-stock.

Isn't this the guy that made up the whole story about the boats being released during Katrina?
