Traumatic Brain Injury. This isn't a weekend hospitalization for chest pains or a broken shoulder. This is going to require extensive rehab and possible round the clock care. If he had emergency surgery to relieve the pressure, that ain't cheap either.

The statue in question was installed over a hundred years ago, by men using the tools of the day. There probably wasn't anything resembling a boom crane or lift that would make the job a little easier like today. There was probably a mule team and some heavy straps.
These nitwits did not even consider the danger of the direction of the fall. If you ever get bored enough, watch some videos about tree cutting mishaps and think of how stupid these people here were.
