chinese goods were just disposable goods - none of it worth a damn
taiwan and others made some good products that usa didn't compete with (or did in some cases, like TVs) - not china, back in the 80's. but not tools and home essentials. usa made everything durable and very cost effective that YOU NEEDED, not everything you didn't really need :)

especially by CHINA companies (note many congress were invested in), but also by microsoft and others suspiciously protected by law (noting many cases against microsoft were decided in courts who's judge had BEEN AN EMPLOYEE OF MICROSOFT)
DUMPING MEANS: someone with allot of money attacks competitors by selling products under cost - the richer person, once the other company is forced to die, jacks up prices quadruple to recover the loss and rapes consumers. china did this and still does it.
PATENT FRAUD and COPY CAT PRODUCTS DUMPED: under CLINTON the patent office became a scam. only big companies could use it - and they ABUSED it. they filed patents on products never made. $2,000 per patent per country - no one but the fat cats could afford it. but the big companies never followed patents either - the broke them freely on paid up when another big company had them in court a while. patents were only enforced for the picked winners - stolen from anyone else. that is still the case today.
CLINTON OPENED UP A DOOR TO HELL, EXPOSING USA companies to multiple chinese attacks, doing NOTHING to prevent illegal activity - no tariffs, no seizures of copycat products, no chinese ships turned around, no taxes, no nothing - even allowed chinese to install a mini government in california.
USA companies, due to usa's structure, was built on the premise of legal and wise behavior (and still is, legally)
people complained hard during clinton - GM even paid for ads on TV. they were all simply "quashed"
it SHOULD BE well known democrats are linked strongly to Bay Area May Day rallies: protest to shut down Oakland port. the port: built by asia not by usa - on california coastline. the mayor: asian - suspeciously elected. the action: chemically attacked workers on strike.
shipping costs: from asia: somehow near $0 (you can get a usa patented technology item to your home for less than TWENTY CENTS INCLUDING SHIPPING, but shipping the same product back to china: TWENTY DOLLARS)

microsoft win95 was a consumer and gov purchase trajedy costing trillions of "wasted man hours" in reboots and re-install and GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS to "fix broken office equipment". the company was involved in many government scams that bailed them out. consumers had absolutely been enraged and were trying to "get them off the market" actually.
Microsoft Windows 10 (built using taxpayer money not win95 sales money however) is no longer the same animal - it is quite stable - stable enough to be called a true operating system perhaps worth the price perhaps the best choice (perhaps Apple is) but all are dice currently i'd say (for the forward planning thinking people - dice).

PATENT FRAUD is also (copy cat) allowing chinese to sell a product in USA they never paid patent rights on, that a USA company paid dearly - using WWII profits and their savings to invest in making.
WARRANTEE FRUAD occurs too. you can't get a warantee honored by a company in CHINA - they aren't in USA don't have to follow usa law and china's law is: you don't even get a support person to talk to on the phone. not always. but it happens allot.

In the 1980's everything worth having was Made in USA*
Clinton employees mostly bought Toyota and chinese imports and invested in chinese companies - and involved themselves in massive corrupt with china
TODAY - YOU STRUGGLE TO FIND A MADE IN USA PRODUCT on the shelf - so many were disontinued - and many products are kept off the shelf by fake companies like HOMEDEPOT LOWES WALMART - who have contracts with china to pinch out usa products (products that still are sold and are a better purchase value)
THE BIG FONT PROBLEM HERE IS THESE BATTLES WERE NOT WON - THEY WERE A PRODUCT OF THEFT
AND CHINA'S (and investor's) STOCK HOLDINGS / TRADE VALUE SHOULD REFLECT THAT
but there is NO COP WHO IS THERE TO HELP - Trump has MAGA, and that's a start but most of the rip-offs have already happen, the money stolen from usa families and put in the pocket of corrupt political famlies

quite simply they had a legal duty to protect companies from foreign attack (such as chinese government making a mandamus to take over a usa company hostile using tax money)
THEY DID NOT PROTECT - INSTEAD MANY CONGRESS WERE INVESTED IN THE "WINNINGS" OF THESE ILLEGAL behaviors
now of course, today, there is no "easy correction". china cannot just go broke as india: it would badly impact the whole globe. or is that an error in reasoning.
Trump's slow even course seems wise
