That's the puzzler. eesh doesn't really need to steal anything. He lives like an ascetic, although he does occasionally enjoy a PBR.

Most likely, he decided to shoplift something just to see if he could get away with it. Lacking practical criminal experience, he devised a scheme that he thought would work.

The problem is that serious, professional loss prevention specialists have seen thousands of tricks, scams and dodges from serious, professional criminals, so his amateurish scheme was quickly exposed and he was busted.
