Opinions of Navy Federal Credit Union?

I’ve got PNC for personal banking and I don’t have any issues with them, but I’m eligible to open an account with Nfcu through my grandfather and I’m thinking of switching because I hear the service and rates are pretty good. Rates with PNC are fair and banking is a little more convenient.

I set up a NFCU account in anticipation of possibly using them for a mortgage. I went with someone else and just let the account sit for at least a decade! It earned some interest but I eventually closed the account to consolidate my finances. NFCU never offered me anything that the bank I chose to go with didn't, and my bank had a branch that was very convenient to my home. I don't think you'd be doing anything wrong getting a NFCU account, and you may find that it's a good fit for you. No harm trying it out for a while.

I am a Navy Federal member and a Apple fcu member. They are both about the same but Apple has more branches. Both are good places to do everyday banking and to borrow. They are not good for saving. Commercial banks pay higher CD rates.

If you live, work or worship in Fairfax county or Prince William county you are eligible to join Apple credit union. Once you are a member you are in for life no matter where you live.
