Should they change to Maryland while they're at it? They haven't played a game in the District in 15+ years.

The "burgundy and gold" sells alot of merchandise and there all many fans outside of the dmv area. When I was living out of town a guy told me that the skins sold more merchandise world wide then any other nfl team.
I wonder how much those people who buy washington team merchandise know about the history of the franchise. I think whatever name and logo they choose has to be in line with whoever loves the team.
I am not sure if I am out of touch with the generation or those who are outside of this immediate area but what would be wrong with trying to keep team as close to it's name and roots as possible by calling it the WASHINGTON HOGS!!!
Keeping a logo that doesnt deviate too far from the team as it already is, i think it would work with fans and kids. What do you think about the name and logo?

Since "Redskins" is simply too offensive for US Senators who just recently learned what the name "Redskins" refers to, and whose ancestors eradicated said "Redskins" from their native land hundreds of years ago...and whose re-election campaigns are now receiving handsome donations from several tribes, I suggest the following monikers for our team:
Washington White Guilt (deserving)
Washington Niggers (show them what a racist mascot really looks like)
Washington SSRI's (anyone who lives in the area long enough will be able to identify)
Washington MBA's (just like the players, you spend a bunch of money on something and still end up punting from the end zone)
Washington Obamas (Face it. In the eyes of many this man will be president long after he's no longer president)
Washington Nava-ho's (you can retain the mascot while also representing a broad section of the population)
Washington Firewater (Have you been out west? Maybe you should work on getting a majority of your people out of the bottle before attacking a professional football team because it's name is "offensive")

Before they moved to Washington, they were the Boston Braves. Atlanta gets away with it, why not the Washington Braves? If not Braves or Warriors, my suggestions are either the Overpaid Primadonnas or Senators With Screwed Up Priorities.
