2 registrations? I know the DMV VA wants registration and fees but the bill for Fairfax car tax came and it includes ANOTHER 'registration' fee on top of the tax. We pay 2 registration fees here???

They lowered the car tax so they had to add fees elsewhere. Next they will add registration for registration. Be nice if they mowed the medians more than twice per summer...

Fairfax County has to raise taxes to pay for the legal services they provide to illegal aliens at no cost. The school system also provides 3 free meals per day to children of illegals.

Where have you been for the past five years? Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads wanted more money for transportation. The rest of the state didn't want to give up their transport dollars or have their taxes raised. So the Republican legislators down state cut a deal saying that Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads could impose certain additional taxes and use the revenue for local transport purposes. This is on top of the auto sales tax and the local personal property taxes.

I just moved here this year. Prior to that I lived out of state.

Your bill may have been wrong, there should be several registration fees, an administrative fee, a collection fee, a tax on the fees and a convenience fee - then of course the original tax.
