His father is going to pass without ever seeing his son support himself.
In a recent meltdown, Meade cried about when his dad dies, he will be an orphan and no one left to take care of him. Meade doesn't give a shit that when dad dies, his dad will be dead. Meade only cries about himself.
Meade is a self-absorbed pig who needs to start thinking about someone other than himself for a change.

Doesn’t Meade have a successful brother in the military. Surely when the time comes, Meade will call upon him to take care of hom

Meade can ask away, but that doesn't mean his brother needs to take care of him.
If my brother was a bum, I might have the compassion to help him out contingent on him working 40 hour week. None of this "That type of job is beneath me". Honest work for honest pay is far above sitting on one's blubberbutt and collecting welfare.
