Today is the anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Note the overwhelming Republican support that overcame the democrat filibuster.

In 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was approved by the U.S. Senate, 73-27, after surviving a lengthy filibuster.

Totals are in "Yea–Nay" format:

The original House version: 290–130 (69–31%)
Cloture in the Senate: 71–29 (71–29%)
The Senate version: 73–27 (73–27%)
The Senate version, as voted on by the House: 289–126 (70–30%)

The democrats have always been racists and still are. Trump has done more to lift blacks out of poverty in 2 years than Obama did in 8. It was democrats who stood in the doorway to keeps blacks out of school and it's democrats who block educational reforms that would improve education in the black community today. It's dems whose immigration policies have caused large increases in black unemployment as illegals disproportionately take jobs from blacks. Democrats and their programs have destroyed the black family unit and seen to it that blacks are a dependent culture that is forced to rely on dems for their existence. Dems lie adn call republicans bigots to deflect from their proven record of ongoing disservice to and enslavement of the black community.
