Video Games

I sold my xbox360 a few years ago, I wasn't playing it and could use the extra money at the time.

Now I'm sort of longing for the days I'd waste playing COD or whatever...
I've half-decided to get a console again, but struggle when deciding which one.

Xbox360, or the PS3?

I even thought about a Nintendo system, so I could play some mother fucking MARIO bitches. Can I play all the old mario games on the new Wii somehow?

What does FFU think?

Do adults play video games anymore?

I just went through this debate when my Xbox took a shit and died after 3 productive years. Xbox 360 or PS3, new or used, wait for the next gen....blah, blah, blah

I ended up not taking the gamble on a used system and bought a new 360. For two reasons: 1. I wouldn't have to rebuild a game library and 2. Gears of War 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Batman Arkham City all come out before Xmas.

I'm still amazed that I still have the following systems that work where I've logged 10 times the amount of hours on those than on my 360 and they still keep going, while the this "high tech" bullshit crap out:

Atari 2600
Ninetendo
Sega Genesis
Playstation 1
Playstation 2

EDIT: Did you get rid of your old 360 games? If not, stick with the 360. If you did, consider the PS3 for the blu-ray if you like movies. Xbox has about 2 exclusive titles - Halo and Gears of War. PS3 has a few more, but I forget their names other than God of War. I think it's about 5 exclusive games.

I don't waist my time playing videogames, so I have no opinion on the matter.

I would prefer to read a book.

360 hands down. I have both but the Sony is for movies only.

Get the Star Wars SE 360 with R2D2 console and gold chrome C3PO controller.

highly doubt you will be able to use a Wii for the oldschool games, although i may not be too informed when it comes to the Wii. might i recommend downloading a snes generator on your computer, buy a cheap USB controller, and you will be golden for your oldschool fix.

The Wii plays gamecube games and can use the wired controllers.

Nintendo did release a disc (or via downloaded content) all the old Super Mario Bros games.

I'd bet that if you really got your rocks off on an XBOX, the Wii will probably suck.

I still play, but I don't have time for the involved games. My 4yo and 6yo boys love the Wii and the games aren't as much of a time investment. I got grown up shit to do, unfortunately.

You can get tons of oldschool games on Wii through Virtual Console.

http://www.nintendo.com/wii/online/virtualconsole/

"Nintendo's Virtual Console is making the greatest video game archive in history available for the Wii console. Download many of your favorite NES, SNES, N64, Arcade, Commodore 64, NEOGEO, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System and TurboGrafx 16 titles and relive those happy memories all over again!"

If you decide to buy a used X Box 360 try to buy one made in 2009, 2010 or 2011 because the more recently made X Box 360 systems have less problems than the older systems. The date the system was made can be found on the back of the system.

i didnt know that. well thats pretty cool. im sure it costs money though right? might be worth just ripping a generator off the internet for free and playing an almost unlimited amount of games... for free.

I sold my Xbox360, but I still own PS2. I can agree that playing PS2 games is more comfortable with an emulator, but having the original hardware is always a nice touch.
I'm not a pc gamer, but I play Microsoft solitaire collection sometimes. Infinite replayability :)
