The Chick Fil A cow mascot is in no way, shape, or form "below" a cashier. clearly mascots are a separate career path from cashiers, managers, etc. In the same way that a TV or movie actor is not "below" a cameraman, director, screenwriter, producer, etc -- they are separate jobs.

You thought the best way to celebrate the hour before you turned 40 was by typing this shit.

Williard Scott was able to transcend being a mascot because his costume didn't cover his face and his personality and voice were able to come through. He was also a corporate mascot on national television. Chick-fil-a cows are a dime a dozen and you all look and act alike.

You are 40 now. It should be time for you to grow up. Get some reasonable goals and start achieving them.

There are more than 2000 Chick-fil-as. Not all have mascots, but there are far more than a 'herd' of then. Also, due to Meade's poor work ethic, he only works part-time. I doubt he is even a top contender for being the best dancing cow in Virginia let alone all of America.

That made me laugh. How funny would it be to pull into the Chick-fil-a parking lot and there are 30+ cows just wandering around and hanging out.

I'm not a big fast food eater but have been to the Chick Fil A in Tysons and the one at Dulles Town Center, several times each. NEVER have I seen a cow mascot at either location.

Meade only works 5 hours a week, maybe you drove by the other chick-fil-as when their mascots were off duty or that franchise didn't have one.

Get serious, there are lots of Chick-fil-a cows across the country. Meade is not the head of the herd.

Why not? They should be proud to employ the handicapped. Making faces is not so bad. Some retards will shout obscenities, wave their willys at people, or drop trou and take random dumps in public. All things considered, Meade is relatively harmless. It's not like he has Tourettes, exposes himself, or throws his poop. He says some stupid things but that's it.

It's not worth making a major issue when a bird poops on your car, a baby cries or throws up, a dog lifts its leg, or Meade says something dumb. Getting angry, upset, or offended shows a lack of maturity on the part of the complainer.

That is the advantage of a costume that completely covers the entire body and head. None of the negative personality quirks come through that. That is probably why Meade is still employed. It isn't a job that is going to get one noticed. Who knows who portrays Jack in the Box or Burger King...but when McDonald's changed Williard Scott...People noticed...

I hope he does it while wearing the cow costume.

No, you wouldn't. But Meade does not exhibit any such bad behaviors. Consider that in order for anyone to be "offended" by Meade, they would have to listen to him talk.... (Perhaps you need to listen to Meade's shows again.) Anyone listening to Meade's ramblings will quickly ascertain that Meade has some mental challenges. Listeners should be able to make that determination long before Meade says something that could be taken as offensive. One needs to consider the source being a mentally handicapped individual and just as you don't kick a puppy for peeing on the floor, you don't fire Meade for saying something stupid.

Not all autistics and retards are harmless, but Meade Skelton is completely harmless. Meade is nonviolent, he does not file frivolous lawsuits, and he does not go on stalking expeditions to terrorize women and sit in front of their houses. Meade is not going to go on a rampage.

It's great that businesses will hire handicapped people like Meade, and to be honest I'm more likely to eat in a Chick Fil A knowing they gave Meade a job.

As long as meade is a dancing cow, his comments shouldn't cause offense.

Now, this music ministry business he's been talking about - should he go that route, he will in fact be held to a higher standard.

But you're right - folks getting over offended (or pretending to) need to lighten up and consider that meade is clearly at least somewhat developmentally disabled. And needless to say he is very harmless compared to some of the folks we have discussed on this forum.
