I am curious why this policy is not used on every poster who attacks someone. Almost every post in this forum has someone who personally attacks another poster. Do you just pick and choose who you want to ban? This is not a question that I am asking to be an ass, I am serious....

I think it's more personal attack by trying to impersonate a user's ID. Like registering an ID of someone else's name with a dot on the end or something and then posting stupid shit trying to frame them as a troll.

Not that picking and choosing would be bad either.

OK-but isn't it still a personal attack when you attack a poster for no reason. I read a lot of posts on here and if someone disagrees or just wants to be mean they attack.

I think if there is a policy regarding "no personal attacks", it should be uniform, not at his discretion. I know he is the moderator of this site, but people really mess with each other on here.

I wondered the same thing. How many times now has Mephisto called somebody a cock sucker? I'm not advocating banning him, or others, but I do wonder how you could possibly have a policy on FFU against personal attacks and not have to ban pretty much everyone.

The only thing it "should be" is what site owner wants. There are degrees of personal attack that rise above others and that's up to him to decide. Bans are extremely rare here... usually to earn one you need to go on a trolling thread-creating binge, or attempt to impersonate another user.

It helps if personal attacks are funny, like with a photoshop or something.

When a poster starts a thread that is nothing more then "X is a blank." I think that's clearly a personal attack with no other intention.

Lurker- point taken and agreed. However, when a poster posts a thread or a comment and someone wants to be a smart ass (please refer to a couple of the regular posters above) that too could be considered a "personal attack." In my opinion...

Again it isn't your opinion that calls the shots... it is the opinion of the guy who owns the forum that calls the shots. If you prefer forums with stringent rules then I'd echo the request that you go there if it would make you happier. If you prefer to stay here, then I think you need to accept how the owner handles things.

My point is....if there is a policy in place. It should be followed around the board. Not a pick and choose policy, otherwise, state in your policy that the moderator will ban who he wants based on his discretion, which seems to be when his "friends" are attacked...maybe? Just saying that is what seems to be going on here.

People attack others on here for NO reason, case in point, my thread regarding this. Read your post, you attacked my post for asking the question and told me to leave. That is my point. I have lurked and posted on here for a long time and I see people getting attacked for NO reason. Why are the posters attacking them not banned? It should be uniform, if you attack a person and it is unwarranted, you should be banned or the post should be deleted. Not this pick and choose nonsense.

You're right, you don't know me and I don't know you. However, I have read your comments or in your review 'opinions" and you seem to "personally attack" quite often. That is MY opinion! So should I tell you to accept if or go away? It seems if you do not like mine or others comments/opinions you go on the attack or act childish and tell me and others to "go away than!". I think the issue here is you think things need to be "fair." They don't, there is no policy except the whims of the site owner. Deal with it.

I was pointing out a glitch in policy. He asked if I was another poster, I asked if he was Cary because of his sensitivity to my post. I see a number of post related to TheMeeper and what a "blank" he is. Those post get banned, others don't. I actually enjoy some of the opinions and post are here, so just telling me to leave is a bit drastic. I was pointing out the obvious relating to the "personal attacks" policy and wanted to question it.
