Robert Hazard (Late) and the Heroes, who had a single called My girl just wants to have fun, The Hooters who opened Live Aid in Philly, And Cyndi Lauper who stole, oh sorry it was an Homage, from both of them, plus the likes to Tommy Comwell and the young rumblers who were always expected to be the next big thing, were staples of the Philly Scene. Many trips up to Philly to the old spectrum, JFK Stadium a- where I took that pic of Ray Davies I posted in the ray davies thread here... The memories. nd the clubs that would change names on a weekly basis, U2 at the Tower Theater... OK that was Upper Darby and I sat in the balcony, but it was a good show. Wham at Veterans stadium - so many girls I was in heaven. The WhamTrack train going up yo Philly what a party that was!
Philadelphia was not a poor mans New york, but more of a Boston for the blue collar set. And the girls...
