GUESS THAT RACE

My 4th grade Son was attacked by a fellow 4th grader in the boy's bathroom today. It was unprovoked - the other boy suspected my son of doing something (which he did not do). Other boy grabbed my son's head and pulled his head back, exposing his throat and then put his arm across my son's neck with a lot of pressure and tried to choke him. Other boys came in and was able to push the boy off my son. Other boy is new to the school and community and has been having trouble adjusting/fitting in but has been disruptive and combative with other students. Early in the year we encouraged our son to reach out to him at lunch and recess and include him in activities. Once we learned he was picking physical fights with other kids we encouraged our son to just keep his distance.

Anyway - the incident happened at 2 PM, our son informed his teacher right away and she informed the principal, we learned of it when our son got home at 4 and then received an email from son's teacher at 4:30. I think the principal should have called us immediately. We are requesting a meeting as soon as possible. I'm pissed that it happened but also pissed at how the school is handling it. Thoughts?
