Remember when people said we lost the war in Iraq and the surge will fail (I believe our current president subscribes to the later...)? Well, according to the latest stats, Iraq has a lower violence level than our own national capital, Washington D.C.
Chew on that for a minute...
Why does the liberal media POUND the invasion of Iraq at ever moment but when the news is good (i.e. basic victory, record safety levels, non-violent voting, unprecidented cooperation, and withdrawal plans in place for 2011), nobody talks?
There is no sucess in Iraq until the last soldier leaves. It was the wrong war for the wrong reason and cost too much in human lives and injury. Bin Laden's strategy on 9/11 was to recreate his sucess in Afghanistan with the Russians..that is to drain us financially causing our economy to falter and to cause our society to change with over concern with security. Sounds like he won to me.

Maybe you should cite a source.
By the way, violence in Iraq isn't measured by how many U.S. troops are killed. It is measured by how many people total are killed. As far as I know, we haven't had any suicide bombers at Eastern Market.

What are you talking about? I was in Woodley Park a couple weeks ago- the place is crawling with remnants of the former Baath regime and transnational terrorists.
I was so scared I was wishing I could just be in Fallujah!!
only a dozen Americans died in Iraq in the last month
more than a dozen Americans died in DC in the last month
ergo, Washington DC is safer than Iraq for Americans.

No. There are about 130,000 Americans in Iraq. There are about four million Americans in the DC-metro area. Per-capita deaths of Americans in Iraq is MUCH higher than in DC.
Keep up the bullshit, Doakes. Maybe there is another statistically challenged idiot like you out there who you can convince.

Actually, he's pissing all over them like a drunkard on a lamp post. Is this the best our technical trades institutes are turning out these days?
HEY MORAN, I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT PER CAPITA. MORE AMERICANS DIE IN DC THAN IRAQ LAST MONTH. DC IS SAFER. WE WON IRAQ. THE END. Get over it, hippy

Your original theory was that the violence level in DC was worse than in Iraq. You even mentioned "stats." Well, the "stats" say that more Americans, per capita, have died in Iraq this year than in DC, "per capita."
You are incorrect, Washingtonlocian. Look at January 2009 and the tail end of 2008 DC violent deaths vs. Iraq violent deaths. DCs is much more dangerous. Iraq, while not perfect, is safer. Do you care to share your source with me that shows that DC is safer than Iraq?
