Fake Obama Birth Certificate Sheriff is Told to Apologize for Racial Comments

A user-friendly version of a federal judge's findings in a racial-profiling lawsuit against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office must soon be disseminated to all of the department's employees, as ordered Thursday by U.S. District Judge G. Murray Snow.
But the statement will not be signed by the agency's most high-profile employee: Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The "corrective statement" sums up more than 200 pages of court documents and rectifies some of the false statements some high-ranking sheriff's officials made publicly which mischaracterized the racial-profiling ruling and prompted a series of hearings with Snow.
The statement highlights the focal points of the findings and orders Snow made last year: That the Sheriff's Office used race as a factor when making law-enforcement decisions and ordered various procedures be revised to prevent discriminatory policing in the future.
"There cannot be a 'wink and a nod,'" she said.
Last year, Snow ruled that Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigration-enforcement efforts had violated the constitutional rights of thousands of Latinos. Snow's remedies included adding cameras to every deputy's car, increased data collection and reporting, a community-advisory board, and a court-appointed monitor to ensure the agency is taking steps to prevent discrimination now and in the future.
Arpaio has been publicly vocal about his opposition to Snow's findings, and frequently reiterates that his office is appealing. An appeal was filed last month, but only dealt with certain portions of the judge's orders.
The appeal did not challenge Snow's findings and conclusions that dealt with the sheriff's saturation patrols, but the appeal did contest the court's order related to the sheriff's traditional patrol stops.
Chief Deputy Jerry Sheridan and Deputy Chief David Trombi were both captured on film mischaracterizing Snow's findings, and were both called into court to answer to Snow in the past few weeks.
Snow repeatedly stated in recent hearings that it was Arpaio's First Amendment right to publicly disagree with his judgment, but said it was another matter to undermine them before his deputies.
