MEN... Caused this mess we're in!
Posted by: spunky ()

The arguement can be made and has that this economic mess we have found ourselves in is due to men. Men basically are in positions of leadership and look where they have led us. Men and women think differently and it's time to put more women in leadership positions, as they are more cautious. Men in large groups tend to start thinking alike and this is dangerous and predictable.

Erm...I wouldn't go with that argument...Since the natural retort would be that without men in leadership positions, we would still be living in caves.

Now, you might object to this, but it's based off the same flawed logic.

So were all of the economic expansions and prosperity the nation has experienced.

Some men. Most men, and women, are honest.

Ummm, women do think differently than men if they think that "leadership" requires someone to be "cautious." Typically, leaders don't do the "cautious" thing. That's why they are "leaders" and not "followers." "Followers" are cautious and need to be led.

Holy Shit! You have never seen a group of Soccer Moms or a group of girls in High School or anyone of the female persuasion in a group, have you? That is easily the most idiotic thing I have ever read.

women have the same opportunity to obtain leadership positions. the question is, why are fewer women even attempting to get into the workplace and politics? if this is all the fault of men, why didnt women stop the men?

ill tell you why, it's because women are genetically programmed to be caretakers for offspring and men to be providers. it's like this in all sorts of animals, including humans. yes, you can go against genetic programming but it's easier to not.

I can't side with Spunky or Gravis on this one. I don't think that men are the cause of our problems; I don't particularly trust any politician (male or female). I do believe that it is harder for a woman to succeed in politics. But considering that it has been less than 100 years since women were given the right to vote, I think we've come a long way.

And as for being genetically programmed to be caretakers... I can only hope that you are attempting to be humorous. Because either you are full of crap or I break the mold.

LOL. Suffering is an understatement. These poor women:

In addition to meeting once or twice weekly for brunch or drinks at a bar or restaurant, the group has a blog, billed as "free from the scrutiny of feminists," that invites women to join "if your monthly Bergdorf's allowance has been halved and bottle service has all but disappeared from your life."

How exactly does one cope when they are forced to spend HALF of what they normally spend at Bergdorff's? The tragedy of it all!

Appeal to authority. Remember, at one time, the authorities told us that the sun goes around the earth.

It's not he strength of the authority that is compelling, it is the evidence the authority provides. In otherwords, your 'well-known' author's opinions are evaluated on their arguments, not the author's merits.

Not just their opinions but numerous other cited sources as well, even men
are of the same thought. What has occurred thus far in history is a good argument to support this logic. Women are born leaders, they're mothers and they couldn't do any worse, look at what men have done, they have made a mess of this once great nation. A woman would never have done that.
It's as simple as night and day, or smart and WTL.

It is ridiculous that at this time in history we can still have idiots like Gravis stating women are genetically wired differently then men to be followers rather then leaders. It is that type of 18th century mentality that is broadcast every day into the minds of us all that keeps women enshackled. It isnt genetic..it's political..it's money...it's power. And the longer you women fall for that kind of propaganda the longer you will be second class citizens.

Who put man on the moon? Men.

Who cured polio? Men.

Who created the greatest democratic experiment in the history of the world? Men.

Women have demonstrated none of the traits you claim they have.

Just because women are different doesn't mean they are inferior. However, men and women lead differently.

Men use the model of the Alpha Male. It is demonstrated through dominant behavior and hierarchy.

Women, on the other hand, use the Matriarchal model. Think of it as an episode of Survivor that involves scheming, game playing, gossip and undermining other women through influence.

Unfortunately women don't understand the Alpha Male model and men don't tolerate the Matriarchal model. So when women try to lead by using gossip, scheming, etc, the men eventually undermine them and bring them down.

I hate to point this out (again), but some women *WERE* responsible for this mess. Assigning blame via sex is not logical, as I pointed out.

I imagine all the women who were married to or having affairs with these idiots on Wall Street all turned down the mink coats, diamonds and penthouse apartments their sugar daddies were giving to them on the taxpayer's dime because women are so much more virtuous than men.

Some women have been very successful in business. I don't believe, at least for my generation, that there is a "guys club," just like my generation had no problem voting for black president.

The problem is women live under this idea that to be successful in business you need to be a bitch. They always say, "Well guys are assholes and they are successful." However, most guys who are successful as assholes own their own business or bring money in. It is much harder in other positions to be an asshole and get away with it. Women don't seem to understand this, though. They have this concept that they can miss their numbers but be a bitch and then it is sexual discrimination when they get fired. They got fired because they missed their numbers and had few redeeming qualities, not because they are women.

No, it's not. I have worked around lots of women. I have worked with competent women and I have worked with women who were professional train wrecks. I have worked with successful women who have not resorted to being bitches to be successful and I have worked with women who were successful until their bitchiness brought them down. These women who have failed always want to blame "sexism" for their downfalls, but when I think of what would have happened to a man if he acted the same way in that position he would have been gone much sooner than what it took for the women to be shown the door.

We control women? Don't give me such an open shot at calling you the 40-year-old virgin, or anything.

You should know through experience that men have never controlled women. We might like to believe we do, but unless you are delusional, you know for a fact that women have always controlled men. always. forever. They just have that passive-aggressive ability to make us believe we are in charge when, in reality, they are really calling the shots.

A girlfriend in High School set me straight on this issue really easy -- "what is it you want really bad right now? a glass of water? a cheeseburger? all the money in the world? or... my pussy?"

Your argument is weak at most. Those men you describe as successful, are no doubt assholes and our tax dollars are supporting their sorry ass, from Wall Street to the Big 3. Women who lead and are assertive are labeled bitches, when they act, as opposed to men who are perceived in a more positive light for the same action. As far as men go, women don't stand a chance.

But to set the record straight there were no women in leadership roles invovled in the negative major issues we face today. Plus there was a woman involved in the discovery of polio, WTL, you need to double-check your facts and reveiw women in history. Women have made numerous positive contributions to society and the world, but it always over-shadowed or ignored by men as seen here. Your logic and your argument is flawed like you WTL. Accept it, live with it and embrace the idea that women are far superior then men. We don't really need men, we just keep you around for amusement.

If women would learn to support one another rather then see them as competition we would be an unbeatable force, men exploit this behavior within women to undermine their strength. A man sees a strong woman as dangerous.

The fact that we are having this conversation confirms my logic.

No women serve on the Boards of Directors of the major Wall Street firms? None of these women approved of the policies that have ruined this country?

Your proposition was about women "leaders," not "women involved in." Double-check what you wrote.

If women are superior, how come they haven't figured out ways to dupe men into letting them "rule the world." Not so smart now, eh?

No. Strong women head up plenty of Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and states. It is "the bitches" who fail.

If my argument is weak, the fact that you have bothered to refute it is illogical.

The day I got married! Seriously though...it is 100% wrong that women are not represented proportionately in every aspect of life...and it's institutions. Men running things in the proportions they do means we have less effective persons in critical jobs. Best example...does anyone think and of the W. Bush women couldnt have run the country then their Dad?

WHAT??? A WOMAN CHEATED??? THAT can't BE!!!

WASHINGTON - Nancy Killefer has withdrawn her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government, the White House said Tuesday.

"She has withdrawn and we accepted her withdrawal," a White House spokesman told reporters. The spokesman declined to comment on the reasons and said more information would come later.

Killefer was the second major Obama administration nominee to withdraw and the third to have tax problems complicate their nomination after President Barack Obama announced their selection.

I'm getting the impression that Obama has made tax compliance a more stringent condition and these audits are digging up things that probably occurred in the past but never came to light. I have no idea why Daschle would think it was a good idea to avoid telling Obama about this until he was nominated. I think Obama is being a little too loyal in return.

Every time I see a vagina now, I'll be wondering what a kidney would look like coming out of it. Thanks.

Size has nothin' to do with intelligence, it's what you do with it. The reality is that the majority of the offenders, on Wall Street to the Bush Administration, were men...face it...Big heads and little hearts.

My point...you know what my point is, but I will humor you, again.

After all these years of male leadership, and look where it's gotten us?
We have arrived at the point of no return by the looks of things...thanks albeit to men!

As Vince recognized and so many other intelligent people, this is a man's world and women are secondary citizens. On some levels race trumps gender, which if it were up to men in total, women would rate behind all the other male races first, which puts us further behind then second place. How would you like to be a female? Exactly...my point, now are all your connections and density of questionable brain matter picking up what I am laying down?

Based on your theory we as humans with our larger brains who are capable of so much more, should all be Einsteins or better, but quess what "you're" not. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it.

As for you Angle...I have started more intelligent threads that have been deleted here, than you have ever began to think about...DUH! Now go back and check the evidence, because you can. How many threads did I start that later were reported on in the Post? How about you? I would think about what you spit out of your PIE-FACE a bit harder, before you hit that "Post" button next time.

If men behaved as "real men" and not idiots (in general), we (our world) would be in a better place. MrM, some men are secondary citizens to women, and you are 2nd, for not keeping promises...and so much more.

the unlike men, government actually gives women money if they choose to start a business. if the same amount of women tried to start a business as men, this would not exist. so the question is, why arent as many women trying to start businesses as men?

ok, i can explain to you how the womens rights movement of the mid 1900's is responsible for everything that is shitty in our country..... annnnnndd here goes... Women enter the work force gradually, increasing the average amount of money a family will take home. This in turn inflated the housing industry (the price of housing nearly doubled during this time). Thus now REQUIRING that all women work as well as their husbands in order to bring home enough money to buy "the american dream". Now this leaves children at home who have no one to look after them, resulting in fucked up kids accross america. On top of this, the "woman on the go" doesnt have time to now cook a nutritious meal for her children/family, leaving us to eat shitty pre-packaged-microwavable-shitfood, resulting in the epidemic of obesity in our children. So pretty much... women are responsible for inflation, our children growing up fucked up, and the obesity problem in america. Now who ruined what again?

to my knowledge, men are better than women at just about everything that we do. Even a stereotypical thing like cooking isnt bested by women, men are the top chefs in the country/world. Men excel at everything a woman tries to do. If woman were superior to men in any aspect, they would be controlling the world (after all, dont forget you guys have pussy on your side). in short, men do everything better, im pretty sure gay dudes even give better blow jobs, so you cant even hold that ace in your sleave. sorry.

I actually agree with most of asshat's comments, except for the inherent superiority of men. I heard a saying one time that, "A woman who seeks to be equal to a man lacks ambition."

I really do feel that some of the fucked up things in society are cause or are going to be caused by kids getting less human interaction. They need parents to establish rules and order, and social interaction with their peers. Now, their parents are spending less time on their kids in a personal sense, and Facebook and Myspace are no substitute.

You agree that women entering the workplace is responsible for a lot of the issues in society? Do you also believe that women should have continued to stay home? To give up their own career goals and instead limit their sphere of influence to the home?

If not, then you still have to support women entering the workplace and the subsequent redistribution of household responsibilities. In which case, women solved a much bigger issue in society (equality) and now it is time for you to "man up" and do your share of the housework, childrearing, and cooking.

And might I add that World War II made it acceptable for women to join the workforce? So why don't you blame Hitler?

If you have a chance to see it when it comes on again, I recommend you watch the CNBC documentary "House of Cards."

http://www.cnbc.com/id/28984151

It details how the whole housing debacle came about and how a lot of smart people looked the other way because the downside was too difficult to comprehend. When you have someone like Alan Greenspan say, "I still don't know how mortgage-backed securities work," and you hear that one of the credit rating analysts had virtually no experience when she started giving AAA ratings to some of this junk, it is fucking mind-boggling.

I watched that last night and saw Greenspan's bumbling and fumbling response. He also mentioned that he didn't feel the need to know everything because he was surrounded by 100s of PhD's in mathematics. WTF.

In my experience, most of the folks from Moody's, Fitch or S&P that rate bonds are very junior and young. For each issuance, they submit a proposal along with a colleague or two in the industry group for which they are assigned and take it to a generalize committee. The problem with this was that the approval committee sees hundreds of these per week. There's no way they have the bandwidth to deep dive into all of those securities. But they'll surely collect their whopping fees for their ratings letters.

I'm not saying women need to stay at home and be housewives. Re-read the second paragraph; I never singled out wives or women. But kids need their parents, and parents are spending less time with their kids.

I thought that my "except for male superiority" thing showed that I am not agreeing with the "it's a woman's fault" mentality (even though it usually is. Women are eeeee-vil).

Parents drop them off at daycare and let someone else raise them, and count on the schools to teach little Johnny about the world. Suddenly, little Johnny thinks it's cool to call his other white friends "nigga" and knocks a girl up at the ripe old age of 15. These full-time career parents are the same ones that are routinely mocked on this forum as "helicopter parents," causing everyone with half a brain to feel bad for the kid.

Kids need their parents, and the parents can't be available if they're burnt out working 12 hour days. Personally, I'd be more than happy to stay at home, keep the house clean, take care of the kids and let my wife make enough money for everyone. When they're babies they just lay there and crap themselves, when they're toddlers they're interesting because they start doing cute human things, and then BAM!, they're gone five days a week, 8 hours a day, for three quarters of the year. That's a sweet fucking deal.

That's because even if you had a 'wife' you'd still be the bitch in the relationship.

Well, it's clear that I have no respect for women since I believe that someone needs to raise their kid instead of dumping it off at day care and letting the TV formulate its world view.

But I'd never stop one from getting a career job, joining the rat race, and being just as miserable as the rest of us. That's some good equality right there.

ok heres the thing, in nature females and males have certain roles that they fulfill. Usually the male is the hunter/provider/protector, and usually the female is the birthgiver/nurturer. This can be reversed in certain species, where the female is stronger and more dominant (hyenas for example). In the human species, men are the stronger more dominant of the sexes. That is not to say we are not equal, but to say that physically we are not. It may not be fair, but it is how nature designed humans to function. By putting women in the work place we have taken the nurturing figure out of our childrens lives, and left them with a TV, microwavable dinner, and their friends to raise them. This I believe has brought us to the fucked up place we're in now. Its not a superiority complex, its fucking nature.

You may want to re-think this statement. I have seen some real whining, whimpy men who even I cold get the better of if I wanted to. Face it women have everything cornered in the man's world, we can do all you can do and more, but you can't do what we can and less!

If you are saying that only women and women alone are responsible for raising children and developing families in addition to working full-time jobs for lesser pay and still be blamed for being inadqeuate while you, men, suck-up nothing...then you "Monkey" need to get back in your cage, because you are running lose from the zoo, of like-minded idiots and the custodian has lost the keys. No, this is not nature, nothing about you is natural, there are animals with better sense then you. Next time you dare to share your thoughts hold a grenade with the pen pulled. Peace!

Did you ever think that some of the biggest problems society faces is from a lack of male participation within the family nucleus? No, I figure you have never invested much time in thinking period.
