Saw many kicked out of service after many years, a Captain with 20 years, former enlisted, was booted out for failing an IG inspection miserably, that was under the Obama thing, made him a SSgt till he hit retirement time. They call it "Rifted" I think. Saw a few kicked out for drugs and sex. The USAF does not want any scandals so they normally kicked them out, retire them or reduce them in grade

Bullshit, the guy was a captain, a former enlisted "mustang", he had maybe two years left till retirement, he fucked up an IG inspection, they found highly classified documents (Secret) in a safe only cleared for "Confidential", he failed to have up to date pubs and all kind of shit. They offered him $10.000.00 to get out, (this was maybe thirty years ago, the base is not even there anymore, it was Hellnikon AB in Greece.) or stay 4 years at SSgt rate and get out with a Captains retirement. He chose to stay in. I used to see him around base and did not know what to call him. He said just call him "Sarge"

You can not be demoted from an officer to enlisted. It is completely impossible.

Why would old publications be the subject of an IG investigation? Publications such as field manuals and regulations are the responsibility of each service's publishing directorate. Individual units and commanders are not responsible for publications.
