Well run companies

How many companies can you think of that deliver their products and/or services in a consistent high quality manor? Most companies suck in this regard. My experience with these outfits has been 100% positive,

FedEx

Amazon.com

WW Grainger

Firestone tires

Cabela's

And the worst companies that have screwed up and screwed me over,

Cox communications

Mcdonalds

Avis car rental

Hilton Hotels

Merchants tire

Other opinions please?

Burger King is by far the worst fast food. Not in quality of food, but in their operations and management. Every Burger King is dirty, the kitchen is slow, and they are always short on staff.

Goodyear's Gemeni service is always consistently good.

There are some shitty days at Starbucks, but for such a huge company, they are uniformly consistent and quick to adapt.

In the food industry for the best are:

Grocer: Wegmans

Fast Food: Chik-Fil-A

All the rest are just wanna-bees.

I went to a BK drive thru in Reston long ago and there was a clearly-visible handwritten sign behind the drive thru window, telling employees that they have been receiving complaints of employees eating food while working and that it is unsanitary and against the rules. So when I got home I called BK and told them that the person serving me was stuffing a huge hamburger in his mouth and was eating french fries while taking my money. LOL.

Sbarro closing. In the 80's, they used to be one of the better run in the mall food courts.

American express has been over the top helpful to me on several occasions.
A few years ago I lost my wallet while on a road trip 800+ miles from home. I had my phone, car and a half tank of gas. I called them and they got me to a motel and had the manager give me 100 bucks cash and a room for the night while they fedexed me a new card to the motel overnight. I will never forget how they saved my ass. Lesson learned always keep some extra cash and one credit card in a secure alternate location if you are on a road trip by yourself.

Johnson and Johnson has, and always will be one of the tops. They were the first company to ever do a recall; and set the policy. When that Tylanol scare happened years ago, they pulled that product off the shelves and initiated the safe packaging procedures, to their credit.

At Dulles, the worst cab company is the Washington Flyer. Not worse from the standpoint of providing bad service, but it's a monopoly as other cabs can't service the airport. I wonder who's getting the kick-backs by only allowing that single cab company to operate there? If the MWAA were honest and had integrity, they'd open up the cab operation to other companies so they could submit their bid or proposal.

Just think of how bad the passengers / customers are getting shafted each year. Actually, I should say businesses. Since quite a few trip departures and arrivals during the week are business travel, the companies usually pay for the fares on expense accounts.

I had a similar great experience with AMEX. Everyone should be one of their cardholders.

Service by far the best - the food itself is pretty mediocre.

You would not feel that way if you were a businessman. If you take their card nobody's fees per charge are higher and their way of dealing with complaints is to simply reverse the charge without an investigation, leaving it to the merchant to try to collect. Plus if you read the fine print on their business cards when they bombard you with offers you'll see the terms are worse than what you would get through other credit card companies.

Amex is all about service. The terms are probably not very important unless you carry a balance. Anyone who carries a balance on a credit card is a ignorant fool anyway. I pack a Amex rewards card and a credit union Visa card but never carry a balance.

Apple credit union. They are the best for borrowing. They do not have the highest CD rates but their customer service has always been outstanding. Just keep a $25,000 balance in investment accounts and you get investors checking that pays 1.25% on your checking balance up to $19,999. Sweet deal!

Trump University has to be worst run businesses out there. They lied to their customers, investigated by the Government, got sued, and had to pay out $25 Million because of all the lawsuits and was shut down.

Trump must be very proud. Such a good leader and negotiator. Eye for talent. Only hires the best. World class customer service skills. This is how you MAGA - by ripping people off.
