He must have been a contract actor for Universal. In the late 50's, he, Deforest Kelly, Lee van Cleef or Dennis Weaver were in most crowd scenes in westerns. Sometimes, he got a speaking part. First time I saw him was in ,"Winchester '73". He had a small scene with another guy starting out, Tony Curtis. Rock Hudson was also in that picture.

Ben "Cooter" Jones from the Dukes of Hazard TV show lives in Rappahannock County, VA near the town of Little Washington.
Cooter is soon re-opening a Dukes of Hazard themed store in Rappahannock, on Rt 211 - on the right side just before you enter the town of Sperryville. Think he is also hosting another DukeFest this Summer out there.
