Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
All last weekend I heard commentators saying, "Oh, Dallas should have no problem beating the Eagles to get into the playoffs."
Ha! They forgot one thing. It was a game that mattered. And if we have learned anything from Tony Romo and Wade Phillips over the years, it is that they cannot win "games that matter."
But most of all, I am happy to see that jack-ass Jerry Jones with egg on his face. That prick basically told three Hall of Fame coaches (one inducted, two future inductees) they didn't know what the fuck they were talking about (Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels). Just like his pupil, Dan Snyder, he has opted to be the GM of his team, picking a coach who isn't particularly great, but who won't disagree with him. As a result, Jones gets handed another season of folly.
On the flip-side, I am glad to see McNabb going to the playoffs again. Andy Reid is a different story, but I think McNabb has been unfairly blasted throughout his career.
Given how week the NFC is looking this year, I hope Philly has a chance to make it to the Super Bowl. I would like to see McNabb get that ring. This could be his last chance.
Wow, Romo still can't close the deal. Wonder how long he'll be at Dallas. FWIW, I've always liked McNabb and agree he ha s gotten a shitty deal from the press. I still remember him from his "cuse days.
Oh yeah, fuck the redskins bwhahahahahahaha.
Yeah. Romo is a fucking hero even though he can't win important games, but McNabb is a dick because his team lost the Super Bowl to one of the greatest teams in NFL history (the Brady-era Patriots). McNabb and Delhomme didn't have the good fortune of facing off against guys like Trent Dilfer and Rich Gannon.
Blaming yesterday's loss on romo is stupid. Romo may not have scored, but he also did not allow 40+ points and cause the game to be lost so early that htere was no way for him to come back.
It takes 11 on offense, 11 on defense. Each one of them shared equally in that mess.
The Cowboys gained almost as many yards as the Eagles and put up almost as many first downs. But Romo turned the ball over 3 times and turned the game into a disaster. There's plenty of blame to go around, but Romo deserves alot of it.
It's pretty funny to think that just a week ago Philly only scored 3 points in a loss to the Skins. Hopefully they can avoid that kind of crap against the Vikes.
Glad to see Tony Homo choke on Jerry Jones' cock. The Cowboys suck. I hope all the Cowboy fans in the D.C. realize that Dallas is one of the most screwed-up organizations in the NFL.

He was bending over for the soap with his buddy Terrell.

The 11 on defense can't do their job when the 11 on offense turn the ball over 3 times and fail to keep the ball long enough to give the defense a rest. No defense is stout enough to do that.

I'm not going to defend the Redskins. They have the same problem the Cowboys do...an owner who doesn't know his own weaknesses.

Now calculate the number of playoff games McNabb has won as opposed to the number of playoff games won by Romo.
McNabb may be a choker, but he is nothing compared to Romo.
It is undeniably great fun to watch the Cowboys choke. Heck, if they had a season like the Lion's I'd tune in just to watch them suck over and over. America's team.
That said, the self destruct buttons were engaged and fully activated around the NFL this season. Oh yes there was Plaxico and a number of other drunk drugged up millioniare brats misbehaving, but let's not forget the NY JETS. They get some big points in their dead-on late season portrail of the NY METS. Taking today's hero, superstar Brett Farve to Miami to lose to washed up old not good enough for Hofstra's workout field Chad Pennington should get them some major style points. Nice work there guys. You deserve a new stadium.
Regarding McNabb's choking, let's consider this. What would his record look like if HE were surrounded by Williams, Barber, Witten, Crayton and T.O. Remember, he got to the Super Bowl with just one of those guys.
The biggest criticism people have of Andy Reid is his reliance on his unorthodox running game that uses Westbrook as a catching running back. Who else does McNabb have to throw to? Reggie Brown??
He might be a good (not great) player and a nice guy, but he is one of the biggest chokers in the league. He has a terrible 80.1 passer rating in the playoffs to go with a 3:2 TD:INT ratio. He threw 3 INTs in the Super Bowl. Choker!
You can make all the excuses for him you want to, but he doesn't get the job done in crunch time. And for the record, Romo sucks.

Well, when your running back rushes for 44 yards and your O-Line lets you get sacked four times and your defense can't stop the Patriots from scoring, Interceptions will happen.
Can anyone explain to me why people are shocked that the Broncos have fired Mike Shanahan? The guy has only won one playoff game since Elway retired. His record over the past three years was worse than Gibbs 2.0. He should have been let go years ago.
