By dope I mean my own drug of choice, weed. I begrudge nobody smoking it.
But Bart-o-Bob would come on here and claim he smoked it for 15 years or more with no problems, then stopped, and then he would tell stories about probation and other problems he had related to it, and then later he implied he DOES still in fact smoke.
Just be a man, bob.. admit you still smoke, you do it often, and you're probably pretty burned by it and that may be one of the reasons for your inflated sense of knowledge and self-coolness. May smokers, including myself, have moments, long and short, where we feel some kind of superiority, but most of the rest of us eventually realize it and calm down with the braggadocio.
Another thing... he would say "it's not addictive, I am proof, I smoked for 15 years (or whatever) and when I quit, no withdrawal".
Literally in the next breath, he is on to a new tact "I may have had some mental withdrawal, but not physical"
Withdrawal is withdrawal. Just admit it bothers you to stop... I am man enough to admit it does that to me when I stop smoking after long periods on it. And having been around other hardcores for years now, I notice it when they stop, too. Just because you aren't puking or having cramps, doesn't mean the irrational behavior you are causing is not withdrawal-related.
